you also have to consider two other variables for your research.
1) amount of gold spent, and
2) number of attempts at unlocking lockboxes/day

Sorry, I replied level 120-140 before I read about the beta tester part. For the record, I spent some gold, not a ton, and received it well before the deadline.

LvL 130 and spent about 350 gold got it 3 min before the event ended

Well not a lot of the low level players hang out at the forum. Probably because most of them don't know about it.
