Hate to tell you this, but I've been stuck on 8 for 3 days too, and I didn't spend a penny on gold trying. I hope you got some other use for that gold and didn't use all of your money just on trying to get silly diamonds.

I think one of the main reasons was to drain everyone's free tap joy gold. Since tap joy started everyone has had a lot more gold and I'm sure sales have been effected, even if not by much. By having this event it burns all that eccess gold and when it ends people will need to buy gold for gold buildings as you cannot keep getting free gold.

I do it when I'm bored and have nothing else to do. I have to admit, I have found some pretty cool apps because of it though. And yeah, free gold is never bad, even if it takes a little killing of braincells...

Oh yeah, and stuck on 8 too. But I'm not spending any money or gold on it. I'm experiencing about a 20% success rate, not just diamonds, but other loot too.

I got 3 the first day, 2 the second day and 1 each on day three and four. Since then absolutely squat. In fact one day, I don't think I got even one box to open. I have a bunch of gold lying around, so I've been using some lately and have spent probably 150 gold and all I've gotten is punker jackets and some ****ty gun, or like 3 stone hammers.

This thing is an absolute joke.

(As large men in little white coats come into my office with a syinge and a straightjackt - I have really been pursuing this Diamond Sig too long - at least I only spent my free gold on some crates and got a couple good items)
