Well, I have seen around 5-8 people with the Sig. I am stuck at 9 diamonds since 2 days. I spend no gold so far. Will save it for the last hour of the event.

I'm not sure of the exact progression of my diamonds but i got 3 before going to sleep on the first "day", none for the next 24 hours, then 2 pretty quickly on "day 3", followed by none for 12-24 hours, then 2 within 3 or 4 attempts, then none for a while then 2 yesterday morning before even getting out of bed, then none for 28 hours until about an hour ago when i got my 10th. Seemed completely random, and i'd say i probably attempted 17 unlocks per day and was successful on 40-50% of them.

I think i probably ran a bit above expectation with what i got out of the boxes tho. Assuming 5 full days, 17 attempts per day with a 45% unlock rate that'd be ~38 boxes opened and 10 diamonds accrued. Seems pretty quick to me, but one of the beta testers said he did it in 36 boxes so its similar to that. I also got 1500-2k respect, about 450k cash and 3-4 useless loot items. I have heaps of boxes left so obv i'll keep opening them. All attempts were with the medium in game cash option.

I got my first 3 diamonds on the 1st day of the lockbox event. another 3 diamonds from the 2nd day... till a total 9 diamonds on the 3rd day. From there onwards, i did get cashs, respect points and swat police van for pass 2 days.

I got 6 the first two days and then I decided I wanted to go for 10 to get the sig. So I bought 110 gold and in my next 11 attempts only got 1. Repeated again to get up to number 8 with another 110 gold. And then bought 110 twice more and haven't gotten anything in the past 22 openings.

Really seems like the drop rate is much lower for the final ones... Wish I would have known that, might not have spent all that money. But I guess that's their plan. :)

But the plus 1 respect will come in very very valuable as I just restarted on my new iPad. Should make stocking up on respect easier for when I get to the chain whips and such.

150 gold spent, stuck on number 9 diamond for 3 days. The gold chance for getting "something" is 100% but much less for getting diamonds. The middle chance is nowhere near 50% for me. Didnt even bother with the freebee. Goodluck people! I'm level 115 I fight but never rob, its not like anyone leaves a church or something good uncollected anyway! :D

I'm hopeful I'll will get my 7th. So far opened 10 boxes today with zip as a reward. No gold spent. I'd say that every day I've opened about 16 boxes and get about 3-4 prizes. (spent cash to open all the boxes). Not very good odds I'd say.

I have just over a day left on my timer and hoping the odds will play out in my favour. Since it took me a day to get the 9th.

If I get it I will be chuffed to bits and thinking of starting the Sig and Golden M4 club :)

Yeah, I've been opening at least 18 a day too, plus a few extra with gold on a couple of occasions also.

Anyway, I got my reward this morning with the 10th diamond and the resulting Sig :D However, I got caught in the frustration of the whole thing and overall I think I've expended around 300 gold on this gig...I'm not too chuffed with that. I'll have to be a bit more controlled next time around...

EDIT: A major reason for my expending all that gold was the carrot of the extra 1RP...just couldn't let that opportunity pass...so a rather good move by Funzio there :p

I got 3 diamonds the first 1.5 days so I figured, sweet I can get 2 of the Sigs at that rate. I have now been stuck on 8 diamonds for the past 2 days and yesterday got only 2 Mark 2 blades (big whoop), $50K, and a bunch of nothing. Once again Funzio has proven that all they care about is alienating the people who dont care to drop tons of money on a "free" ap. I get that they have to make their money obviously, its a business - but without all the "free" players, the game is nothing bc there just arent enough people out there willing to waste real money. I will continue to set my timer every hour today and try to get 2 more diamonds, but I hold out little hope that I will get the Sig. Anyone else as frustrated as I am?

Load of people come on the forum to give out misinformation, I believe they get a buzz out of it.
As with cash opens the success rate at the high end be 50% chance to open thats 12 boxes per day if you don't sleep making it 82 boxes open in the 7 days and you only slept at 58min intervals.
do you honestly believe that conzio would have made the probability that good that in under 50 boxes open you got 10 diamond to me it is hard to believe.
Gold user if you can guess how many boxes in all did you open before the sig was unlocked.

**** this bloody event. Caused me to let myself slip again and become too obsessed with some simple game. Opened boxes every non-sleeping hour last two days, lowered myself to download and delete Tajoy garbage for some 20 bars, still sitting at 7 diamonds.

Spending money on a free game and advantage items is fine, did spend some on Kingdom of Loathing and don't regret it because the designer had awesome creativity and humor. Yet if I spent some on this event, it would be different, because it then becomes nothing but gambling, and this kind of gambling sucks.

I guess I am looking for better than "many" people. When I have attempted to open up 15 a day, how much more dedicated can I be without wasting real money. I could understand if I was only attempting to open up a couple a day or if I was using the "free" lockkit, but I'm not. And now that I hear complaints from real money spenders that they have dropped 200-500 gold +, and still have not gotten desired results, sounds an awful lot like a failed "event". Some people may be happy, but I surmise Funzio may do more harm than good pissing off gold spenders and free players alike. But of course I can't prove that last point anymore than you can prove that "many" players have gotten the 10th diamond without spending any real money. And from a different perspective than my own, what does that say to gold spenders that have dropped $50-100 real dollars and never got the mythical 10th diamond that free players were able to do it without spending any money?

Just attempted my 5th try today and just like the previous 4.........NOTHING. At least it wasn't a worthless extra mafia member or some other BS.

Having got the sig you can take my view as biased but I agree with Joey - it is an awesome feature. Funzio have done the odds in a way that a non-gold player can still get it with alot of devotion but obviously easier with gold.

Mine and Eriks results are similar (40% chance of opening, 20 % chance of getting a diamond on average) which basically means that it is very tight; there will always be a chance of not getting all ten even if you pay for it - that is just the unfortunate result of probabilities. The only 100% certainty for this was that some players would get pissed off with it & that no matter how Funzio approached it there would always be pissed off players!

WAHOO 10 diamonds! i did notice one thing in my venture to get 10 diamonds... heres how it happened for me... i was stuck on 8 diamonds until this morning... got one more this afternoon maybe 2 hours ago... used 20 gold to get to 9 diamonds... i've noticed that the drop rate for a diamond is better when you have a low amount of lockboxes... i started out with twelve... once i had oppened 8-9 of them (with gold), i received my 9 diamond... and now i just got my 10th when i only had one lockbox that i got from the shooting game... man it feels like ive won the lottery, only cost me 120 gold... good luck you guys, i bet that the drop rate will get better as time wynds down

If you know that you can't handle the 'chance to drop' because you will cry when your loot doesn't drop, then go buy something with 100% chance like items from the special shop.

I know those who have posted their 'hate' for this event are just doing so out of frustration so maybe just be more cautious and less trigger happy on the gold option. Remember, the diamonds only have a CHANCE to drop.

No suck luck here, I've been stuck on 8 diamonds the last 3 days. I decided to endure getting all the remaining free apps off of Tapjoy which I have been dreading, and used that 40 gold to try to get a couple diamonds in the last hour unsuccessfully. It was all unwanted mafia members for rewards and no diamonds.

Oh well, I got some other goodies over the course of the event, so I can't complain. I would like to know how to remove/reject all the mafia members I won though, I wanted to keep my numbers small.

You hit the nail on the head, the frustrated little boy in me was coming out after spending days trying to get the 10 diamonds and doing everything in my power to avoid buying gold to do it since I promised myself I would never buy gold in this game. In the end, I held the course and did not buy any gold, yay me. I think the event could possibly use a couple tweaks but overall it was solid. It definately got people amped up, so mission accomplished.
