$69 in total. Well worth it though because of the old crate price loophole. I have doubled my attack and nearly tripled my defense because of it. Since I bought crates, I have only lost one fight... to another guy who bought crates. El-oh-el.

Personally, it's not hard for me to justify that money when I put it into perspective. Take my total spent for instance and compare it to other things I buy frequently. That's like...

9 lunches at Chipotle
27 Monsters
2 dinners out with the guys
15 tips to the bakery for a little mid-day treat
2 Maxxis Minion DHFs
5 6-packs of Alaskan Amber
13 half-gallons of ice cream
9 months of Netflix
3 haircuts... with shampoos (it's sooo worth the extra $3)
1 month driving to work instead of riding
1 pair of new shoes
2.5 trips to the bar after a ride
0.5 speeding tickets
1 new XBox game
3 used XBox games
1 month of cable, which I already canceled, but is a good example for this case

If I say no to, or cutback on, a few of those - which in some cases is in my best interests anyway - then I have more than made up for my game spending. Plus, none of them will provide anywhere near the level of time and entertainment that this game does, especially time.

$20 for crates when they were first released, before the price was raised. And man, it really helped... I got 17 crate items (along with my Tapjoy gold) which added around 800 to attack and 1200 for defense, which has been huge in helping me pretty much destroy everybody I can attack or rob.

I'm sure the advantage will peter out in a few more levels after I hit 50, but I am certainly having fun with it while it lasts.

Can't say I've missed the gold... at Lvl 117 I beat most gold-buying players on my list...
And imho the new Thug Life rounds which allow you to tank up on respect real fast take away most of the advantage of gold weapons...

One regret though... there was this real pain in the a** whose hood I stumbled onto minutes before he came around to collect... a complete goldmine it was... Nightclub, Pirate Taverns, Rock Cafes, Condos... the works... and I had only 7 stamina... should've bought a refill...

I used it to get two ice cream shops and two smoke shops. (I accidentally bought a basketball court with the free gold I started with)

I have 50 gold from Tapjoy, and may buy a bit more later to get a pirate tavern. Otherwise, that's it for me.
