So I've never purchased gold weapons because I thought the investment was more than it was worth, but wanted to check out the new system so I bought 110 gold and bought 2 sets of 3 crates. Ended up with 1 golden chaingun, 2 common armors and 3 common guns, all in all not bad at all for 90 gold... Except I feel weird now lol because these are my first gold weapons and feel like I jumped on the bandwagon :(

I had 19 gold so I thought I would go spent it on a crate and I got a rare armour . It is a good job I brought it before clicking off the game because when I clicked back on it went up in price.

I was one of the unfortunate few who purchased alot of gold with the intent on using them on crates only to come home and find the amount has surged upwards and out of reach for everyone i would assume...I read that it was an error or just too popular to keep at the lower price and Funzio could see more $$$ and changed the prices.

I bought one set of three before the prices went up, the gambler in me couldn't resist. I also felt weird about it because I planned to never spend gold on weapons. I made Funzio take back the Ice Shivs I bought by mistake, but every time I attack I still see a picture of it in my weapons used with a x0 next to it. :confused: :(

It's probably good that the prices went up, it's the perfect excuse not to spend any more gold on weapons.

Seems counterproductive. I thought that the crates would appear to lots of "gamblers" but not at these rates. I could see people mindlessly chasing rare loots for hours at 15-16 gold a piece.

I just upgraded to 2.2 after much deliberation. I went into special to see what all the crate fuss is about and low and behold, crates at 16 and 45 gold. I bought three sets of three. I'm quite pleased with the outcome especially since, like Dorian Gray, I promised I would never buy equipment. More surprising is that I bought crates at the lower price hours after the price bug was "fixed." I just went back in to grab a screenshot as proof, but the price is back to full. Go figure.

Exactly the same for me, spend my tapjoy gold. However, I was very lucky, received a Modified Street ... (vehicle, 132, 94), a Skull Smasher (melee, 74/54) and an Eviscerating Blade (melee, 30/17). Still, won't go for it gain with the new prices.

I'm very glad I checked this thread before I logged on to CC. I had the old prices when I first logged on, 16/45, and my inner gambler bought 10 x 3-sets. Logged off and on again, and the prices had changed to the new ones. I'm very glad I bought the crates, but will not buy more at the current price. But it's actually a good thing they changed the prices, 16 a piece is kind of too good to be true. No one would buy the original gold stuff for 200-900 gold. Also, I think the game would become quite unbalanced because one could easily equip at least half of their mafia with gold stuff, and all the looting for good weapons would be needlessly and just boring.

So jealous Amber, i logged on and saw those prices pretty late in the day today too on my drive home, didnt really check it out tho. Got home, read the forum and logged back on to see the inflated prices!!! ARGHHH

Fair play Amber. I only had my tapjoy gold and got myself 8 crates at 2x45 and 2x16 and at first thought for 45 gold you get 3 items and you are given the strongest out the 3 but to my surprise I had all 6 so with the remaining I brought another 2. So even to me I thought 16 gold a crate was way too cheap so out the 8 I got 4 uncommon and 4 common.

Dude you are _so_ freakin' right! Give the man a Nobel Prize :D As soon as you re-launch the app the prices revert to the higher ones.

EDIT: Oh yeah, don't panic like I did but on first launch my LBs had disappeared...but did appear on re-launch.

I've done (4) 3 x Mobster Crates so far and received 2 rare (16%), 4 uncommon (33%) & 6 common (50%) items. A little bit better than the advertised rates of 10-25-65%.

When I was Beta testing, I bought a crate of 3 just to try it. The weapons I got were nowhere as lucrative as the lists I see above. As a matter of fact I got 2 of an items called "Reni's Revenge" or something like that, and I cannot find it in my list. I sent a note to Funzios beta team and never heard back.

I have lost a bit of gold beta testing and I am not sure I am a fan of that.

Well, we do get to keep the weapons we get, if we get them, ahead of everybody else, but in exchange we run the risk of having something be buggy. I guess if I had a real problem with it I would just opt out.
