I added a watchtower thinking that would defend the buildings highlighted in blue. The guard tower says it has a defense of 0 and so do all of the buildings in that zone. I looked at the option to upgrade the guard tower and it shows that my defense is currently 0 and after the upgrade the defense will be 0.
So I don't see how I am supposed to upgrade the defense of both the tower & the buildings.
