its not a good weapon for defense, your better off buying a mace for defense then steel garrotte.

attack wise it is a good weapon to buy,

i have 222 steal garrotte. its the cheaperst melee for me. katana and taser is to expensive for me

I stopped buying them when I hit 100 b/c at that point they were only giving me 3/3

I have 400. Although the gains are pretty poor after all the butter knives and batons from PVP, its still worth buying if your not investing (R) in melee (which you shouldn't be because melee att/def is the cheapest to build from $$$ weapons with exception to the almighty Chain whip).

if you have not enough nail bats for 500 mobs, Steel Garrotes give some benefits. Since I have more 7/5 melee items than my mobs, no benefit to buy hundreds such items

250 i think and i buy a couple every now and then even though it only goes up 3points

By your stage $50k for 3 points is probably more economical than anything else.
