I am level 37 and I made a big mistake with the buildings I chose. (Terrible Income)
I have the following buildings and stats:
Defense:
Level 2&4 Bodyguard Agencies
Level 6 Abandoned Building
Level 4 Guard Tower
Level 1 Safehouse
Money:
Level 9&1 Pawn Shops
Level 3&1 Laundromats
Level 2&3 Houses
Level 2 Pizza Parlor
And more low lvl buildings.
I have won 610 fights.
I have lost 359 fights.
I have 27 mafia.
I have 915 defense.
I have 567 attack
My income per hour is $1015.
I have 110 gold, so I do not want to restart my game.I am willing to spend the gold for good enough buildings.
Any advice helps.

get 2 ice cream shops if you got none. and upgrade to lvl 10. build as many buildings as you can. expand when possible. and keep upgrading your buildings. once your income is decent, think about saving for movie theater and loft!

Before you buy buildings, how often do you play and collect...no sense spending gold on buildings that cash out 4,5,6 times a day if your only on 2-3 times a day.

Your income is so low you'll want to start with Step 1. And 2x Ice Cream Shops are a great buy. Skip the Basketball Courts.

Don't worry - you can destroy and rebuild some buildings quickly and get your economy humming again. When I realized what I was doing wrong a while ago, I got rid of some buildings and build other smallers one to scale up. Those smaller ones went away as I gained bigger ones. It's all in how you wish to play. It's hard to keep track of 3 and 6-hour buildings as you get robbed throughout the night while you are sleeping.
