There is an interesting discussion in another thread regarding age. Just curious what a "typical" CC player's age is. Let us know how old you are. I'm 34.
edit: I hail from Boston, MA

I'm 35.

My mom was playing this game before me and got me hooked on it, she's 66 and plays on her ipad.

My sister also plays and she's 33 and a firefighter.

We're all just kids at heart!:)

thank you for taking the time to vote. interesting finding.

so far, 54 responded to the poll... most in 31-40 range but overall every age group represented. interestingly, 4 responded that they are less than 18 years. pleasantly surprised by the global reach of the game.

any thoughts?

That I want my gold back for the Bodyguard Agencies...oh you meant on the survey..

I would have put my money on the 25-30 age group! Good idea on this poll, most informative.

yes. this is but a truly informal and unscientific survey. it doesn't pass the rigors of a genuine study where you select your samples from a larger pool by chance (random sampling). however, we can at least get some sense of the characteristics of CC players, at least those who participate in the forum.

I think it's typical CC players, the age of players visit the forum & not visit the forum should be similar.

The average age is about 27 - 33. it's higher than 25 - 30 group and lower than 31 - 40 group.

it's always easy to say it's not like this, it's not like that. But if someone asking for the answer, you would say "sorry, I don't know. I only know how to say it's not like this, it's not like that", right ?

You make Yogi Berra sound like Einstein.

And it is painfully obvious you have no clue how polling and statistics work.

Let me tell you how I do the estimation:
- This poll is age group, not age. So we have to accept that every age group is treated the same despite the age range are different. ie. a man at 99 is same as the man at 41, and a kid at 2 same as 17 young guy.

- Second I find the balance point for the age group. Now the balance point is between group 3 & 4. (my previous post the balance is more in group 3) - Imagine the scale, the balance point is the point at the center, keep both side balance.

- Third, state the conclusion.

Anyone have different idea, just tell me how ? do not just say it's not right & run :D. Max Power? where are you now ? tell me how ? don't just run a mile away like that.

LOL...you are a hoot. I am not running, I am at work. I don't have an alarm set to this forum to let me know when you post, sorry.

It's pretty simple. You can't accurately come to global conclusions asking local questions. This survey did not ask all players who play this game where that is all they have in common, and did not make that information mandatory as a prerequisite to playing. That is the only way to truly tell the average age group, not asking people who play, but also people who play as well as participate in a forum, but also asking people who play that participate in a forum and are willing to reveal their age.

You are deducting clean results out of dirty data, and while many polls do that to some extent, they do that out of convenience at the sacrifice of accuracy.

We had an independent candidate locally here that won our governor's race a few years back and on the day of the election, he was only ranking 10% in the polls. He ended up winning with 35% of the vote(there were 3 candidates). The polls were so inaccurate because they polled by calling past registered voters, and completely ignored an age group that used cell phones over land lines. They basically ignored through the process the first time voters and a youth demographic. You can't use past voters actions and responses to determine first time voters actions and responses. That is a perfect example of dirty data in search of a clean conclusion, and that is exactly what you are doing here.

All we know from this survey is the age groups of people that play this game who also participate in this forum who are also willing to answer the question in the first place.

You have no understanding of statistics and polling and when someone explains it to you in simple terms you accuse them of being a politician? Are you possibly this obtuse? When you are ready to sit at the adult table, you just let us know.

Insult ??? no, I just tell the truth.

I'm simple guy, if I know something, talk/write, when don't know anything, listen/read.

But there are people who don't know anything but still talk/write like pro. I called them pro-noobs. New word to you ?? To me, pro-noobs are people who talk/write like pro but the content of whatever they talk/write is noob.

Is that I called you since the first time I join this forum, Max ?
