Also, some new weapons/armor...but I'm a bit more excited about the buildings :D

Edit: I have no idea how the brave heart thing got in here, I posted that in the Creativity board a while ago. Can't seem to delete it. So learn to love it!
Edit2: Learned how to delete it :p
Edit 3: Added Comedy Club pic and info.

Learned so far: Comedy Club (4x5 Footprint) - $3,000 every 6 hours, +$500 income per hour, 9 Hours to Construct, 509 Hours ROI* (I think I did this correct..)

At what level are these new buildings available?

Syn
12-14-2011, 12:04 AM
All the new money buildings start after the shoe store, so after level 38.

Sorry, the best I can do. I really regret upgrading my Movie Theater just 5 minutes prior to this update for 650k...

... I just upgraded a MT too... Luckily I have a cuple hundred K and an IC that will finish building in the morning.

Syn

... I just upgraded a MT. Only a few hours left. I haven't seen anything in my store yet.

Have you restarted your game?

dudeman
12-14-2011, 12:42 AM
Yeah.. About 2 seconds after I posted that, and I changed the post 2 seconds later. Lol

Looks good, but I would like to know the real estate requirements of the new buildings. Some of them look like they would be good for replacing my starter buildings, but only if they don't require extra space. Otherwise I see no reason to sell what I have, I can just dedicate a day or two of fundraising for an expansion and I'll be good.

Edit: Luckily my MT upgrade was only for 390k, but it still sucks that I could have done something cheaper and then built something new when my IC is finished in 6ish hours.

I sold my worthless electronic stores (lvl 2). For science! Will let you know..

dudeman
12-14-2011, 12:55 AM
I only have one of those (lvl3) and I was thinking of getting a second due to the limited options. Not anymore though. Those buildings that require an uneven area of real estate are a pain to fit into a densely packed hood.

Dang, it won't let me put more pics due to limit. I knew I put it in, here it is: 638

If it's a 4x4, it's a new favorite of mine...

Not a fan of the 18 hour collect times. It's like Funzio wanted to make sure there were things for night owls to rob.

my strategy is always going for 12 hours and 24 hours buildings so i dont waste much time in this game after all. but im saving money for a hotel so i guess u might disagree. but...i think after u upgrade ur loft and movie theater, the best way to boost ur economy is buying the highest level possible. ps. upscale club looks like a great deal!

i'm building dominican restaurant- costs 125K, income is 8K/24hrs, takes 8 hours to build, and footprint is 4*5.

My first reaction to the building times was not happy. Then I realized that the biggest building I have built so far was the Movie Theater (8 Hours). I haven't had it so bad compared to 120 hour Crematoriums.

How dare they give us new buildings with such reasonable building times. :p

I'm already saving for the Beach Nightclub. $1,750, every hour = ROI is about 23-24 days. This is probably a bad idea for a 12/24/48 player. But since I'm able to collect every hour/other hour that I'm awake, this is great compared to other similar tiered buildings.

What is the size of the beach nightclub? Like a modern loft?
And what is the size of the beach hotel? Compared to another building.

I decided to get the beachside inn, which actually says waterfront inn right on it. Footprint is 7x8, takes 16 hours to build.

The new warehouse has the same footprint as the old warehouse, and both the comedy club and Dominican restaurant are 4x5. Hope that helps.

beach nightclub has better roi. BUT, since we all know that you will not be able to collect every hour, you would have to account for your personal game style. personally, i tend to prefer buildings with longer collection time, so i will buy the upscale club.

Why sell, when u can expand? Its a waste to sell, esp when you only get half back. Though, expanding is quite pricy, however, with more money buildings, you can earn easy money. Just have to build wisely.

I just can't bring myself to sell back 'both' of any kind of buildings, no matter how crappy the payout. One thing I focus on in my hood is variety. The electronic store is unique as far as design and color scheme, and it has little satellite dishes on the roof. How can you get rid of the building with the cool little satellite dishes? lol

I guess I could just buy one back later when I have room. They are only $2,100!

Nope, gonna keep one. I guess I have a lot of expanding to do.

Yeah, didn't you see allhaildiscordia's post? Well, it is kind of hard to read, I'll translate this line as best I can.

70 Upscale Club 1 day, 0:00:00 (24.0) 1 $82,000 $3416.67/hr $4,000,000 12:00:00 (12.0)

Looks like this ^, translates to this:

70 (Level Requirement), Upscale Club (Name of Building), 1 day, 0:00:00 ((24.0) Collection Time), $82,000 (Amount per collection), $3416.67/hr (Amount per hour it is making, added to your stats), $4,000,000 (Cost to Build), 12:00:00 (12 Hours to finish construction).

Confusing, but you will get used to it pretty quick. If I made a mistake, let me know!

Sorry to stray from the topic a little, but I think this question I have fits here.

Are the following early level buildings worth keeping/upgrading once you reach higher levels?:
- Laundromat
- Pizza Parlor
- Souvenir Store
- Barbershop
- Deli
- Clothing Store
- Electronics Store

I feel the space could be better used and would rather put money towards that than expansions right now.

I'm going to take a stab at this, but don't take my word for it. I would keep the LM through the Deli. Do a full collection on those 5 buildings (x2) at level 10, and i'm sure it's a nice chunk of change. Besides, they are only 4x4's :p (Edit: Well not the Souvenir Store, still worth it in my eyes though.)

Plus, those upgrades are relativity cheap compared to every other building.

So I should pretty much not even bother camping out and cleaning up my hood to make room for some of the higher paying buildings, and instead just camp out upgrading what I have and buying expansions.

That is both what I figured, and what I was hoping would not be the case.

I would keep the LM through the Deli.

Basically, the Type A buildings. Most of the early Type B buildings are at a severe disadvantage in that their bases aren't much, if anything, over the Type A buildings and their slow growth isn't nearly enough to compensate. I think the underrated Arcade is an exception. Generally appealing Type B buildings start to become available in the late 20s, but their upgrade prices are very steep compared to the early Type A buildings. As a consequence, many players express dismay over the "dead zone" buildings available from level 9 through circa 30. Seafood Restaurant (32) is about the point where Type B buildings should start being listened to because their base payouts start to become enough to offset their inherent lower growth and higher upgrade prices.

Well not the Souvenir Store, still worth it in my eyes though.

Souvenir store is severely underrated. Upgrade sticker prices are not expensive in the least, it's comparatively fast to get to level 10, and the $/hr is better than five Type B buildings and equal to the Arcade. Compared to the Arcade, it's way cheaper in both time and money to upgrade and has a far more convenient pickup time. Meanwhile the Meat Factory at level has 10 a mere $275/hr advantage at a cost of double the upgrade time and nearly 30x the sticker price.

Fortunately or unfortunately, there's a strong argument to upgrade these puny buildings, even though you're waiting 24-60 hours for something that adds a few hundred dollars at most to your $/hr figure. The reason it works out is that the buildings are so cheap to upgrade and grow so fast that they win out when compared to slower growing buildings that, while seemingly have more attractive payouts, are comparatively expensive to upgrade. Of course, there is the long view outlook that examines steady state income, but this eliminates most Type B buildings due to the existence of the "big three" of Movie Theater, Loft, and Nightclub.

You can do both in my opinion. Slowly upgrade those base buildings, use the profits to keep upgrading them, save the excess you don't need at the moment. Use that savings for expansions and bigger buildings.

I don't have a huge hood at all, my next expansion is 750k. But my hourly income is just shy of 30k. I level all my buildings (with exceptions) equally. I don't like camping at all, and I haven't. I keep my mafia below 300 and nobody bothers me. Level 94 and going strong, but this is in large part because of my building defense. At 25 gold a pop, and cheap upgrades, Bodyguard Agencies are the best gold buildings I have. I can build one and have it to level 6 easily in less than a day. Level 6 Agency is 243 defense. Then, I upgrade to level 7 (341 Defense) overnight. Those that do try to rob, don't come back for seconds usually :p

Even though a few days ago this guy had me zero'd in for a week! He only got my 3 hour buildings every morning while I slept though. I can deal with a 10k loss a day. I just let him do his thing until I was out of his news and rival list. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't still looking :p

Couldn't agree more! I really am a huge fan of any 3 hour building, but especially these. Everyone overlooks them when robbing, much like the barbershop and gun stop. If I see a level 5+ gun shop, i'm going to rob it for easy money. Level 5 is when it just peeks over 1k in robbery profit. Barbershops level 8+ also give a few thousand. (Edit: I know gun shops/barbershops are not 3 hour buildings, just pointing out that people overlook them when robbing.)

But there isn't anything I could say more about the Souvenir store that Tramp did. When I said "Well not the Souvenir store", I meant it isn't a 4x4 footprint :p

@Syn
My next expansion is only 400k, and I get roughly $13k/h. I have been trying to level my buildings evenly but the longer upgrade times of those old buildings makes doing that far less appealing than building something new that earns more than the upgrade would. I know the long upgrade times should give me time to save for something else, but when I sit on a pile of cash for that long, it ends up getting spent on equipment... I can't do anything in my hood so I get into fights, and then I start getting rivals on my list with higher and higher stats, and then I have little choice.

They should rename this game "Crack City", because no matter what I do in any aspect of the game, it always feels like I need a lot more of everything!
Edit: It's even to the point where sometimes I wish I wasn't against the idea of buying gold! No wonder they don't make any effort to give free gold. I even filled out that survey and got nothing.

I really should be asleep right now but realized that if I go to sleep right now I won't have quite enough money to fund the $21k Italian Restaurant upgrade when I wake up due to my recent spending spree. I was mindlessly looking at how much money players had on-hand as at level 17 there's generally not much of interest to rob. It was then I came across a player with a hoard of level 6-7 buildings that haven't been collected in 48+ hours. Warehouses, Houses, Gun Shops, Electronics Stores, Barbershops, and more. One of my favorites is when the "sea of 3 hours" lights up and I collect some $10,000 in about 10 seconds. Then add the 6 hours to every other collection.

Bahaha, I have mine in a big backwards C covering half my hood. Makes me wish I could just glide my finger over them instead tapping :p. I collect them up, set my phone stopwatch for 3 hours, continue on my day. Make an easy 150k+ a day on just 3 hour buildings. (To be fair I have six 3 hour gold buildings (Chapel, Ice cream, Sushi), without them I wouldn't make anywhere near that amount.)

I have a sea of 12 hour buildings that nets me 350k in ten seconds, and I am sure there are people well above me that could add a comma to that number.

Lower level buildings are fine, when looking at a spreadsheet they may even make sense, but look in any hood over level 125 and you become hard pressed to find em. There is a reason for that. Eventually, a level 10 Souvenir Store income is a rounding error in your total economy, and the space can be used so much more efficiently. Space upgrades are never factored into building ROIs, and if you just spent 3 mil for more space to save your Clothing Store, you are probably not looking at the big picture.

Robbing generally gives the best respect so the exp is a good trade off, although other than the warehouse the respect gain is pretty minimalon those buildings I think.

I personally hate the souvenior store. It might be useful at lower levels but after a while the income on it is to low for the space it takes up, that and the fact it is the most ugly building in the game. I hate them, selling my level 6 store to fit in a chappel was a good move for me personally.

Once I hit 90 and HL's started whacking me I have just been Whacking my way leveling up with the aim to stop whacking and go back to robbing at level 125 when I can build the game changing Gentleman clubs. If you go into level 90 with good win/loss and rob win/loss records that will change when HL's start beating on you. Getting out of that territory as quick as possible is a good time to really build up on PVP loot that I think is underated. You can watch your att go up after each PVP loot win in the fight log. I'm glad I took my time leveling up to 90 though.

While Souvenir Stores may not appear in many high level hoods, it's not like a player can open with level 10 Casinos. There seems to be a "generational gap" going on here where higher level players have forgotten how they got to where they are. while a Souvenir Shop may not deliver high value to a level 150 player, it will have paid for itself many times over by the time a decision is made to sell it.

Another "generational gap" sentiment I've occasionally seen on the forum is lack of consideration toward lower level equipment, as if one can start farming M4A1s right off the bat.

FML (beachside inn finished building this morning and now I discover it's a Type B), FML (M4A1s - two days worth of energy spent, plus two level refills, TWO guns looted), and FML (I did that survey well over a week ago, possibly two weeks and still nothing).

Seems like this game is really hell bent on slowing my progress and reducing my success right now. Or maybe I just feel that way because I had managed to save up a big pile of cash, spent it all, and haven't seen any rewards yet. Oh, and I'm broke. Again/still.

A "gap" is definitely the right word to describe it, whether that's generational or based on experience.

The way to get stronger is to raise your lowest end, not your highest. Going heavily after M4s is a reasonable strategy for someone who's leveled high enough to have gotten a lot of energy, but for someone at the low levels, if you're fighting with baseball bats and broken bottles, you should probably spend your resources on improving on those with realistic weapons. I've been looting M4s for what feels like forever, and I have a ton of them, but until you get to that point, you're vulnerable. Make your weakest mob stronger, that's the key (in my useless opinion).

I agree with you! It looks awesome! Just like a gold plated club! But 4 million! :(

1 Gingerbread House 1:00:00 (1.0) 1 $100 $100.0/hr 150G ($8,000) 53.00 0:05:00 (0.0833333) 0.666666666667

Need help with some fields:

1 = Exp level unlocked
Gingerbread House = Name
1:00:00 = Output time (HMS)
(1.0) = Output time (hrs)
1 = Level
$100 = Output
$100.0/hr = Hourly output
150G = Gold cost
($8,000) = Gold equivalent cost
53.00 = ????
0:05:00 = Construction time (HMS)
(0.0833333) = Construction tme (hrs)
0.666666666667 = ????

EDIT: Okay, 0.666666666667 is $/hr/gold. 53.00 * 150 = $7,950. Is this the gold equivalent price before rounding?

The upscale club just reeks of class...none of my gold buildings are actually gold coloured... totally unfair

Agree, it's my favorite building. I am halfway to my 2nd one. I even bought a sidewalk palm for the front of it.

out of the new buildings my recommendation would be ginger bread house, upscale club and dominican resturant.

i dont recommend beachside inn,

and the others havent looked at carefully yet.

I think comedy club too since it gives better stat than dominican restaurant

By the way, nobody has bothered to compliment me on my hood before, but since I built the first upscale club a couple of days ago, I have received three compliments on how good my hood looks....LOL!

I guess this building is a consensus favorite.

I'm halfway to my second one as well. But I didn't jew out and get a palm tree. I got a 900k fountain to go between them. I got money and I like to waste it.

That's cute, pal. Brag about your accomplishments in a video game by using a racial stereotype incorrectly. Could you be more ignorant?

Welp, I robbed the new warehouse and got 31k per tap. That puppy was really leveled up.

It's a pretty new building, so the guy must have it to level 7 or 8 already.

That was a nice surprise.
