Profile stats vs. Actual stats

I have noticed quite frequently that stats displayed in the profiles are different from what they really are. Sometimes it works out in your advantage, but not always. Just recently I unlocked a goal to reach a certain defense score. According to the stats in my profile I had already passed that score, but I still didn't qualify for hundreds more defense points.

What's up with that?

The defense goals don't count defensive buildings, only weapons
