Fight Weapons

How are the weapons that you use in a fight selected. It seems that I am not using the best weapons in my inventory for every fight. In stead of using a micro usi i'm using a pistol in nearly every fight. Any help would be great.

I have made the same observation myself through some calculations.
Seems that the game select the best items used for attack, but was using the same item for defence as well.

Not true.
next time you attack or rob someone, look at what they use.
Their best defense weapons / armour are listed first.
