GreeDeca .. Apple are finally forcing the hands of the developers. They will be insisting that the odds of loot boxes are disclosed to the customers..

About time too ... So now we will finally find out if three crates are 3% does that mean 1 % each or 0.00000001% for one of them....

I never liked the gambling aspect of any game, it’s too easy for game developers to screw people over.

Pigs will fly long before deca/gree answer that question.

Pigs will be flying then.. because Apple have made it part of the requirements::
https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/

From apples TOS

Apps offering “loot boxes” or other mechanisms that provide randomized virtual items for purchase must disclose the odds of receiving each type of item to customers prior to purchase.

Deca/gree will wait until absolutely the last second to advertise that. Plus what ever they say will be wrong

You do know those crate events; when they post up something like 60% chance of a common.. (as an example)
It only means a 60% chance of hitting the Common category.
Before you think you're getting a 6 in 10 chance of getting your unit, go check how many units are in that category.
I've seen 10 common units when players are after one particular one.
So, in this example you have a 1 in 10 chance of getting that unit...if you're fortunate enough to get the common category.
Your probability of hitting the unit you want drops from the headline 60% to more like 6%
Or in a real world situation, probability says, expect a result after approx 17 hits.

Correct (ish :)).. that’s why I created the thread because Apple are introducing changes which will require that we know the odds of each item..

Cause even in your example of 60% for covers 10 items .. GreeDeca actually have a second % per item..

So it 60% for common but then the 10 items also have different percentages.. so each item won’t be 1/10 .. eg

0.5%, 0.5%, 2%, 3%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 20%, 20%, 20%

Gree admitted to not evenly distributing the odds of the commons many meetings ago..

But now Apple will force their hand

It’s about time developers are required to post their odds. I personally never go for crates besides in game cash, never in 5 years have I used gold on them. But it helps out those who do to at least have a chance at an honest percentage.
