If someone wanted to use "straight" I'm sure that would be allowed.

IMHO, of course you have that right to be as gay or queer or straight as you want, but I don't see what that has to do with Crime City... really.

A ban on offensive language is one thing, but needs to understand context - anybody else remember those fun days when a few completely innocuous words would be starred out in game chat because the censor was in idiot mode!

Gay and queer surely wouldn't offend anybody nowadays except religious fundamentalists, and rednecks who see the words as an affront to their manhood. Gree need to reset their word blocker to sensible.

It does seem like these are odd words to block, but I wonder if maybe Gree had an issue with homophobes misusing these in their name so this is the action they took? What name are you trying to use OP? Did you send in a ticket? Obviously we can't help you here so you need to send in a ticket too.

Unfortunately, I'd say VL made the right move putting this in OT. You could make a case it belongs here since it doesn't affect strategy, but you could also make an argument for 'general.' I would say you have to look at precedent and the last time a thread like this was created it was insincere as it was an attempt to call attention to the poster and provoke reactions. OP could be sincere with his/her concerns, but a thread like this can also get out of control quickly and distract from the game/forum.

I assume that they have to prevent harassment as you can add phrases or words not banned before and after the word "gay." That might be the issues as they don't want someone to slip by and offend others. I don't think Gree is homophobic, as some Knights and Dragons armor are very flamboyantly gay themed.
