It is no surprise thAt there is a massive canyon between the top 50 teams and everyone else . But three of the reasons lower teams score so low are :
1) walls - my faction was around 1300 and we faced a dozen teams with level 15 walls
2)got 1 premium match the whole weekend
3) in 23 matches with all of the players I attacked , I saw 2 players above level 200 . I am level 238 so I am not going to score well hitting players 100 levels below me or if I gave to use all my hits on the wall -

1) higher ranked teams have no advantage in taking down walls per se. i have four accounts in the same team for the sole purpose of taking down walls and DLs.
2) better match ups are the result of better coordination. so the question is whether the officers in your faction participate in declare rooms. its extra effort, but so much easier to get free points through the multiplier.
3) consider creating a mini. my main account is lv285 or so. therefore, depending on the match up, i score more with the account that gets the best points per hit.

( you know what they say a boat is, and the two happiest days of the owners life?) is anyone going to really remember anything you've done today, in 25 years from now? It's entertainment fella, not a social statement. If I participate in a local bicycle race and win with my 12k bike and fancy shoes and outfit ( do I think I'm lance Armstrong? Oops, maybe a bad choice, but I bet he will still be remembered in 25 years, just like Pete rose) that I will do a little victory dance, and probably someone like you in the crowd shouting out, do I think I just not the Tour de France? Why do some of you hate people for what they like to do for entertainment. If you didn't have some sort of competitive streak, you would have never played this game for so long either, so don't pretend you arnt just the same. Maybe you can't spend as much as some, maybe you can, but chose to spend it on other things, like a classic muscle car. If that's what you like, more power to you. Maybe you compete at car shows with your pride and joy. I know some people who think such things are ridiculous. I chose to let everyone enjoy what they wish in their own way, unless it hurts someone else. And no, the spenders not spending any more would not have a postive effect on the game as some of you have suggested. Stop your hate, and let every one have their fun. Pheonix did a last battle today that had no hope of catching sup, and they knew this, yet still did over 7 mil points in that battle. To me it seemed something of a waste, but you know, I bet they had a reason for it, and obviously had a lot of people who agreed with it to do that number. Their money, their choice, who am I to say they were wrong. If they had fun doing it, isn't that all that matters? If you have fun not spending, then by all means do that. What I don't get is, if you're not having fun, and it's all such a bitter experience , why are some of out guys still here? Fun for you is raining on others parade? That's just sad. Some of you seem to think that spenders are blind to some magic truth or insight, that only the enlightened, such as yourselves, are privy to. Ever heard the term zealot? Live, and let others live. Some of the same peopel have complained here and in other chats about the state of the country. that the government is trying to tell us what we can and can't do. Seems to me it's not just the government trying that. If youre against something, you think everyone else has to be too.

Fact is, there are too many zombie factions out there and too few active players to fill them all. Fewer players in a faction = worse results = worse prizes = more difficult to attract new members = more wastage = fewer players in the faction....etc etc.

I'd be surprised if anyone on here (aside from myself) is in a faction which places outside the top 50. If you care enough to post on here, you're probably active enough and strong enough to get a spot in a top 50 faction. Myself, I don't care. My spending days are over, I'm just amusing myself doing what I want in the game. If anyone wants to throw money into it, that's their decision, good luck to them.

True. But you aren't the only one not top 50 (1500-2000 lol). After trudging to 200, I had enough. Now none of us care how we finish. 17 accounts, maybe 6 that do anything at all, and none of those with any real effort. A faction full of slackers like us could probably take 500 easy. But we just don't care enough to try. If everyone else like us did, there would only be about 700 factions total. Sad.

Back during march madness I created 20 additional players to bring me up to 40. Then built 3 factions. As each WD comes and goes the number of players either leaving or who are coasting continues to grow exponentially. Match times for my lowest faction were averaging 20 minutes and the matches were lopsided. Either impossible or way to easy. The B faction did the best doing 3 battles and placing top 700 while the A faction did top 1000 in 3 battles. Neither lost a battle.

What I continue to encounter are 'shell' factions, a number of weak players protected by a monster DL. A sort of interesting plan if you are encountering similar factions who actually aren't participating but otherwise pretty flawed. But the main thing I saw was that someone was declaring but nobody was showing up to actually play.

Might be a lot different in the top 50 but it seems to me there is mainly dead wood down at the roots which means the game is dying from the bottom up.

I should mention that I spend no real money, I like working out strategies granted the game is pretty much devoid of this now.

I downloaded the game again after a 7 month sabbatical this weekend. Declared my one man faction about 5 times. Used a few health packs (8 total) and was top 2500 by the time I deleted the app again on Sunday.

I think my stats were 60m attack/ 40m defense and I was matched up against some pretty even teams. Once past the DL, I always had a target.

My point - scores are skewed, participation is terrible, and too much tap/tap/tap to even entertain coming back.....

I too occasionally do a couple battles. I also remember doing 3 - 4 battles a few WDs a while back and was in the Top 500 in Division and a decent overall WD ranking (with 2 accounts). As Speed Ump says, to me it's entertainment and I'm not bothered if I win or lose. For me, I still collect my pixels and help max factions out with it. Maybe that may change down the road but at the moment, I'm happy not pushing like I used to in the past.

speed, you want to know why i think you guys are stupid. it's because you guys spending on a game with ****load of bug and you guys act like there is no problem and everything is fine.Of course it's your choice But the reality is you guys are rewarding Gree for doing nothing, i been playing about 2 years and every damn event got a bug or schedule troubles. AS exemple , every frontline event finish 1h later, some unscheduled LTQ appear out of nowhere , hits are not always registered... And it's the same bugs over and over .Of course gree could fix them easy, a good quality control team could make it. i dont even know if gree know what it is.The only thing they are doing is trying to figure a way to put more gold item to make more money, and they clearly not listening custumers cause nothing change. but they don't bother to fix it cause you guys spending that much and kiss gree butt, maybe if you guys stop spending it would turn a light on at gree HQ and they would try to make the game better. But you guys dont care at all cause you only think about yourselves. You guys keep saying if the game close it wont be the end of the world lol yeah of course. I dont know anybody who dont care losing money even if he is billionaire. when they added the equipment to the game every old players were crying because they played since the start of the game and their stats mean nothing and all the money they spended in the game was gone.

I agree HR, the top 50 are propping the game up now. It used to be top 1000 helping out but gree has ruined the game and there is now no need to compete with gold.

I agree with HR and WBS. Only T50 are keeping this stupid game (that MW has become because of how Gree managed it) alive. It's beyond fixing it, and as soon as spending will diminish at the top, they'll shut it down, like other Gree titles before.

Truth of the matter is that nobody ever expected players to stay with the game as long as you guys have, or put so much money into it. You're bored because you've been playing the same events, through the same mechanisms, every day, for years and years. Players should come in, play until they get bored or find something they like better, then go. That way the game could go on forever. But the way we're playing i, requires constant change and stat inflation and essentially keeps new players from staying more than a few weeks, because they can't compete.

Either the mechanics of the game have to be radically changed and the events totally shaken up until MW becomes a different game altogether, or we're going to end up destroying it by making it too expensive to compete in. Our victories will be hollow indeed, the day the lights go off and our beloved pixels boil away into the ether(net).

Personally, I can't see how the game can continue past WD. We must be getting towards the end of it now. There aren't a butt-load of significant countries left to fight over, and gree promised the winners' names will stay on the map forever, so we can't start again. So I guess the question is 'What then?'
