Just curious if anyone actually spends gold to purchase ships?

1 ship costs you 37 gold and will get you 32000 points

Or

You buy 25 deploys for 25 gold which would get you 298,625 if you deployed all gunners.

So the free ships Gree gives us for the deploy point goals are great and all but does anyone actually spend gold to buy them?

I never have. But I'm sure many in top teams do.

Ju100. That's kind of my point 250 ships would cost you over 6500 gold. So you get 8 million points but if you just bought deploys and gunners you would have almost 75 million points. So I guess the real question is what is the point of the ship?

I think it's just a relic from before they brought in the gunners. Hasn't been deleted for some reason or other (probably because it's a gold unit, so they'd have to refund anyone who still had any).

On the subject of ships, anyone remember when the casualty rates were different for infantry/ground/air/sea units? I wonder why they brought the rates to 'low' for everything - it makes a nonsense of buying naval units, because they're weaker than infantry (for instance) but the lower casualty rate used to offset that.

Most tappers have created an "indestructble" array of pixels these days.
That "good against this or that", well, like the rest of this dog and pony show, it said one thing, did an entirely different thing.
I think the word I'm seeking is HYPE, the great, gold hype!!!

Ships are only around for GREE to make an extra $$,

Some might accidently fast tap and buy a 100 pack which won't be refunded.

Some might have failed 2nd grade maths class.

GREE is counting on both :) they are happy to see THE cash keeps flowing in on them, so no reason to change anything.

I would think that those spending buy boats AND a ****load of deploys
If you're limited in gold, yes, gunners are the way to go

I've advocated for replacing the ship with a high-cost cash unit for quite some time now.

And how is Gree responding to that?
