Dearest Gree,

I just had an idea that would totally revolutionize game play. I know it is a tall, tall order, especially given the other tasks that you are working on...but bear with me.

Currently, game play is challenging in many ways. We have multiple events occurring, these events often use the same scarce resources (e.g. a health or energy bar is required for 2+ concurrent events), and we have our statistical base evolving with almost every event.

It is in this last dimension where I would like to spend my time: user stats. I will let others wax poetic on relative merits and challenges of “if” our stats should grow and by how much, whom they should benefit most, and whether or not the bonuses (if offered) should be temporary or permanent in nature. My suggested innovation is slightly different. I would like to focus on the “low apostrophe.”

Given the intersection of increased statistics, degrading player eyesight, and font sizes in the neighborhood of Tahoma 6pt, the ability of many of us to discern our own statistics (let alone that of a rival) are dropping precipitously. This innovation that I suggest—which has also been labeled the everydayman’s semi-colon, the droopy period, and Splice’s Enemy—is a wildly irresponsible idea, I know.

I recognize that this change would turn gameplay on its proverbial head, serving as a catalyst for vitriolic reactions throughout nerdosphere. Still, as stats quickly approach a trillion, to be followed be a series of numeric monikers that are only useful in pub trivia, I encourage you to at least consider what some might label heretical advice.

To help illustrate my idea, I have included it here for your reference: ,

So if i understand you correctly. You are basicly asking they show number like 1,000,000,000 for example?
Cause that would indeed be very usefull.

DING!

To illustrate this point please see my original post without said droopy period. Without it, my cumbersome attempt at cleverness and satire goes from difficult to read to virtually indecipherable.

I have to admit the first time i read it I had a major, WTF did I just read moment.

But nicely written indeed. Well done sir, well done :D

It's shameful that this Thread had to even be started. Th OP's suggestion seems so obvious.

I chuckled when I read this : of course I didn't laugh when I attacked a 10 bil player I thought was 1 bil , so how about gree !!

If I may add on another modest proposal: keep the numbers within the margins.

Imagine when greed starts dishing out 10B atk/def units - will the numbers run onto the next frame, which greed will conveniently explain away as a display error?

if these stats keep going im going to need an extension screen on my phone...just a little fold out unit to show the Millions and Billions then Trillions , given I have stepped into the Billion mark now....how many zeros do I look for ??
10000000000 lucky they didn't start the game way back when with .5 stat units !! I means whats a couple of extra zeros if you cant distinguish them now

I honestly just attack blindly. I don't really care if someone wants to come back and take 120k from me every day. At this point, it is better than trying to squint my way to victory with a perpetually furrowed brow.

I'm tired of using my finger to count groups of 3 numbers to know if the guy I'm attacking has 3 billion defense or 30 billion.

I have a related proposal, one that I think may make things even easier. As stats have gone completely insane, and the first 6 digits of a person's stats don't really matter, why not just use letters? Let me introduce you to my friends K, M, B, and T. I shouldn't have to do this, but I will cause it's fun.

K = thousands. If you see one of these, pick on him/her.
M = Millions (Pshaw)
B = Billions, once impressive, now meh
T = Trillions (a month ago's billions)

So, for example, rather than trying to parse through 3 pt tahoma font of 365027458463, we just get 365.03 B. I think two decimal points are more than enough, and could be talked in to one because it's equally arbitrary. So remember, KMBT! KMBT! Kiss My Bouncing Tuchus! Kites Move Below the Troposphere! Kids Mutilate Bugs Troublingly! and so forth...

And while we're at it, could the collect all shake actually collect all and not leave out looted buildings? What's the point of a collect all if I still have to look through my Kingdom? Yuck!

Here! Here! Most excellent suggestion. I heartily support this concept.

Whoa whoa whoa. Don't get GREEdy. I am asking for punctuation. You are asking for punctuation, letters, AND some sort of automated simplification coding. What do you think, we have an engineer/mensa member from Tandy (circa 1993)? I am thinking that level of programming is required for a such a revolutionary change. Perhaps even one of the architects of Mindspring.

Whoa whoa whoa. Don't get GREEdy. I am asking for punctuation.

But adding a few more punctuation would make the number even longer and to make it fit, it would have to use an even smaller font.

The TBMK is ok but sometimes, when you get a unit, it would be nice to see how much it increased your stats by, if any. Then you'd know if another of the similar unit is worth getting.

How about using different colors for every 3 numbers instead? Then you wouldn't even need to count commas.

Oh yes please, and while you are doing that can we have rainbow unicorns jumping over our kingdoms as well. Perhaps make it a rare event where you might find a leprechaun with a pot of gold at the end.

TBMK sounds good. Especially those abbreviations

I'm not so sure it's a matter of being able to count, but is more a quality of life change. We did have commas (or something) for a short while and it created a more relaxed gaming experience.

put everyone in billions or millions. whatever you pick, make it universal. With the latest stump box event, when you would get a unit drop it would read 900k / 700k or whatever, so it should be doable

something easily readible and comparable when looking at stats.

I like you. You also bring up a great point. Gree is a company who doesn't create anything of their own. They're parasites that buy up other products and then milk them until they fold. I don't think Gree developers are actually capable of making meaningful changes to their apps nor can they create anything meaningful from scratch.

I see you went a different direction here, Gree. Started giving out some epic units like the "Myre Wild Dwarf" with 88a/132d. Keeping things in double and triple digits is an effective way to avoid commas; however, diluting the dwarfdeep mire so much also makes the event pretty meaningless (much less tedious and nearly impossible to finish).

Obviously we have not passed on your feedback to the developers and they are aware of the issue but don't give a damn.
