When a person gets promoted from Commander to High Commander, they get a 5% increase in attack and defense correct?
If a Commander fights a High Commander or higher and wins, they get 3 different sets of points. If a High Commander fights the same person and wins they only get 2 sets of points.
Why? What is the 3rd set?

Win points/ knights defeat bonus/ rank bonus. Rank bonus only applies to HC and up.

the first number is your score (0-500), score is variable based upon the armor and level of your opponent.
the second number is a bonus for beating an officer
20% of your score if you beat a high commander, guild champ or guild sentinel (0-100)
50% of your score if you beat the guild master (0-250)
note you get nothing for beating a commander
the third number is based on how many characters you beat (you get this even if you loose, except if the Guild sentinel is still defending). if you kill you opponent and he had 3 characters you get 30 points, if you killed 2 characters its 20, kill one you get 10.
Hence if you kill the guild masters 3 characters your max score is
500 + 250 + 30 = 780
During frenzy there is a fourth number which is 20% of your total score.
500 + 250 + 30 + 156 = 936
That is the maximum score you can get

So other than a 5% increase in attack and defense, what's the advantage of having High Commanders in the guild?

Depending on the Guild, High Commanders are assistants to the guild. We help coordinate events and assist with the day to day happenings of the guild.

But you can have no High Commanders at all during the regular wars and make extra points when you defeat higher opponents. During the Raid you can set the game to auto scout and not need HC's at all. That way people are playing for the guild and not their own interests. If the guild wins they win.

Ahahahahaha! I dare you to try it. I know my HCs would be furious. That 5% applies to everything: arena, boss, heroic mode.
