View Full Version : Accidental gold use

I bought 1500 gold for €60 yesterday because it was an offer I couldn't refuse. It's actually a lot of money to me to spend on a game, but since I like it it was worth it for me. I bought it to build the LTBs, but. I just accidently and unintentionally fast forwarded the upgrade from my Wholesale building from level 9 to lelvel 10. This building was standing right in front of my Broadway Bowl, which I wanted to upgrade but the screen for the Wholesale popped up. I was able to boost the upgrade from this (in my eyes useless, but good looking building) for 1250 gold and I just did that by accident. My screen froze a few seconds after collecting all and I just clicked at my Broadway Building and tapped on the place where the upgrade button stands. But then the screen for the Wholesale building came up and all of my gold is gone now. I know this is pretty much my own fault, but this was unintional and I wanted to spend that gold on LTBs. I hope GREE can help me by giving my 1250 gold back (that was accidently spent on the upgrade of the Wholesale building) and set my Wholesale building back from level 10 to level 9.

Thanks so much in advance! ;(

Send a ticket explaining it and Gree should return the gold. Done the same thing a few weeks ago too

I just did. I hope they'll return it. I'd be grateful.

Did they return it quick to you? Cuz we only got 12 days left or something like that to build them.

Think it took about 5 days in total to get it return. I upgraded a Brownstone wasting about 600 gold by accident instead of selling it. Needed to get out of the upgrade due to a LTB and thought sell it but it upgraded due to lag

I'd understand if they do that if the amount of gold that is spent accidently is under 100. But 1250 gold is just madness in my opinion and I hope they understand that.

Gree will check it out and in most cases with true accidental use, do refund it. Takes a few dats (3-7) usually.
Some of my team mates did this so and got a refund.

Are you on iOS? One of the reasons all those fraudsters get away with repeatedly getting refunds from Apple is their return policy is "no questions asked".

I'm not saying you should request a refund. Definitely allow Gree one chance to make it right.

Yes, I'm on iOS. That sucks that people actually fraud. I'm trying to handle it with GREE first but if that doesn't work out I'll contact Apple.

So let me get this straight... you bought gold. You accidentally used it poorly. If Gree won't give you back the gold, you'll go ask a 3rd party for a refund of your actual money? Based on what exactly?

Yes. I bought the gold. I accidentally used it because the game lagged. I clicked exactly at the place where the Broadway Bowl was standing, but the game decided to pop up the upgrade screen for my Wholesale building (which was upgrading at the time from level 9 to level 10). Because of the lag and my double tap on the screen I accidentally clicked the 'speed up upgrade' button, which had the price of 1250 gold. My iPad doesn't lag ever, only sometimes (normally it works really fine for me) it lags when collecting all. To be precise this is a 5-second lag, but it is long enough to accidentally double tap on the button. In my opinion GREE would make a good move to help a customer in this particular situation. Everyone understands that I didn't want to spend 1250 gold on a building which pays like 400k per 18 (!) hours (my IPH is $42m so this building doesn't make a difference). Also, there should be a warning which warns you that you're about to spend a lot of gold. If that happens, you can still click 'no'.

To do some economic math: 1250 gold has the price of real life €50, if you count with the sale. Without the sale this would be €83.30 in real life. I'm willing to pay this for the LTBs, but not for some 400k building.

To be clear: when GREE refunds my 1250 gold I WILL buy the LTBs. In that case GREE doesn't make any loss, because they still get their money via Apple and the gold will be spent. The outcome of this issue is crystal clear: a satisfied customer that is willing to pay for ingame bonuses again in the future and no loss for GREE. It would show that they actually do care about their customers, especially because they're not making any costs by helping me.

I did accidentally finish construction of a grillz earlier. Cost me 70 gold. This latest update did some screwy things for iOS. Gotta tap a few times before a building is selected...

Yeah, since the last update it seems like that they games selects another building than the one you're tapping. 70 gold is a shame, but it is something really different than 1250 gold.
