The prices have not changed, but in Europe the VAT has been added. Its a consequence of the new European Law that has been implemented on the fist of January.

That is very weird indeed... In Spain the gems are still on it's normal prize

All depends on the country you live in. Most US firms base there financial department in Luxembourg, a country with a low VAT. Till 31 December all Europeans paid the Luxembourg VAT. The first of January this changed now you pay the VAT in the country you live in. So the change depends on the country you live in.

You can find the reason for this increase ->Here (http://forums.gree.net/showthread.php?103992-Apple-s-EU-Canada-pricing-changes)<-.

I will be closing all topics that are the same and directing them to the post about the increase. Thanks for understanding.

Apple has been forced to change the prices. Europe updated the VAT legislation.

http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/taxation/vat/how_vat_works/telecom/index_en.htm

From 1 January 2015, telecommunications, broadcasting and electronic services will always be taxed in the country where the customer belongs* – regardless of whether the customer is a business or consumer – regardless of whether the supplier based in the EU or outside

* For a business (taxable person) = either the country where it is registered or the country where it has fixed premises receiving the service.

* For a consumer (non-taxable person) = the country where they are registered, have their permanent address or usually live.

The fact that Apple have been avoiding paying tax across the globe paying$000,000s to fat cat lawyers to achieve this for years and pocketing the additional profits seems to be being overlooked with these increases. Also as a resident of the UK I am subjected to VAT of 20% so why has the price increased by more than 30%???

For once, this is not Gree's mess but they along with all other content providers are for sure going to suffer as a result of Apple's greed. Why should and would I now pay almost 40% more than my friends in the US?

Sorry Gree but gemming has ceased for me along with a lot of people this side of the ocean. Customers should not be penalised for Apples years of tax avoidance.

Apple rips off people, not the VAT. On iOS the price is now 99,99 euro for 800 gems while on Google you pay 75,14 euro for 800 gems. So Apple is the thief.

Yes you can't do anything about the tax increase.

What you CAN do is increase the number of gems we get in a pack to make it fair. I'm sure Apple and the EU don't force you to only have 800 gems in a pack.

How about giving us 1000 in the pack instead of 800?

Now that would make too much sense SBBL Indigo.........
