IOS - game freezes when attacking certain players

I noticed now repeatedly that when I attack certain players the game would just freeze and I cannot get back to my base or do anything else. Once I restarted it would seem that I had lost since I am missing 30k. I went back in the game attacked the same player again and again the game would freeze (greyed out buttons).
Anyone else experiencing this ?

I attack by going to the enemy base and by clicking on the avatar.

I had that on my ios. Went to attack someone in my newsfeed that lost to me and it freezes up everytime on the VS screen

The game freezes when attacking players that lost to you in your dial.

Same thing happening here since version 5. Still, that isn't as bad as the issues were before I got 5.
