Really Gree, on Christmas vacation is just cruel. Biggest family gatherings of the year. Please rethink this situation and move the date. Also, this war on the the 26th, will certainly put a strain on most of the communities pocket book. Christmas time shouldn't be stressful, it's about being with family you haven't seen in "ages. Having battle on that weekend is just plain stupid. I'm sure it's the one weekend in the entire year that most would have liked to have off. I'd be really surprised if IP doesn't drop significantly so it's you guys that will lose out.
Simple solution would be put the war on a weekend earlier and schedule an SLTQ for Xmas weekend. Win Win for everyone

Update: The answer is a bit more complicated, but the jist of it is that the difficulty of the event will scale with the increased length and a user's stats will be a factor in how much easier than the baseline difficulty the event will be.

Remember the "action packed" LTQ that Tadaaah promised once, which turned out to be the worst LTQ ever? I have a feeling it's going to be another one of those gold sucking events.
