I am sure "the player in question" qualifies for this bonus tier religiously, which means 100 vaults of gold purchased every month (150k gold). This comes with 250k bonus gold for a total of 400,000 gold bars/month. This person has not been playing since the game came out, but close enough to it that I will guess ~30 months. That's "only" $300,000 paid to Gree, for 12,000,000 gold.

No need to be a billionaire to achieve that level. Just need to be a few cards short of a full deck.

Tam is a great friend, a sincerely nice, wonderful person and a terrific teammate. Playing on her team, which I thoroughly enjoyed until retiring from TAW a few months ago, you see the many attributes she has and guess what? It's not only about the money! Tam is the greatest player in CC history and dominates it in a way that is unique in the online gaming world. Her financial resources, of course, have to be at a certain level to compete as she does. If I had to guess, I'd say "Tam" is former funzio ceo Perry Tam, and that either as a backdoor or shareholder agreement when funzio was sold to gree, Tam retains either the ability to have limitless cash and gold, or any cash they spend on buying ingame currency returns to them as part of a shareholder agreement. Just my opinion, but I think that's a more plausible explanation than just saying Tam has so much money that they don't blink twice at spending the amount necessary to buy first place in things.

Based on earlier statement this cannot be true.

Here's something to entertain: if you're not a Gree shill, I believe you are retired with a lot of money and no one to leave it to because everyone you've ever loved is dead. Since the money is no good to you when you finally reunite with those dead people, and you have all the free time you can imagine until then, might as well spend it on stuff you don't have to leave the house to buy.
