I too have visited the Apple app store, wrote a bad review, then requested my money back for my last gold purchase. Goodbye Gree. It was fun for awhile but now can't open the game anymore on my iPad1. Sorry but will not even look at your other games because I fear they will all end up the same way. BTW your beta testing is terrible.
Worse part about all of this is that I am the leader of a rising faction...Sealords. Have already reached out to a few teammates to have them request Gree to change leadership position to an account that still works. Good luck with that. I guess now I have my life back. I was pretty addicted and like a heroin addict I spent lots of money on Gold each WD cycle to get my fix.
So sad. You should fire all your programmers.. LOL you probably won't be able to pay them anyway since I see many others are doing the same thing. ABANDON SHIP!

To each his own but I'm done trying I got my apple refund this morning and wrote a nice review. Gree have you looked at your great one star reviews. Pretty sad showing and worst part is they are all pretty true who would want to deal with gree to have fun there are surely many games out there which have a better programming and support team

Interesting, trivia in a way... I've read a few other reviews I. The iPad charts after seeing the comments above. It's seems that it's not only GREE who are having this issue... Looks as if the gaming industry itself is struggling with performance and load issues with the basic client/server design of these apps. Not to use that as an excuse of course.
Recent experience with an iPad 3 suggests that part of the issue is the amount of communication going between server and client during game load. If I leave the screen and it locks at times when unlocking the iPad performance itself is poor. That means something is using a whole lot of memory on device....

It is now more than obvious that nobody at Gree cares. To them we are the north end of a southbound horse and will be treated accordingly.
This treatment of their customers is beneath contempt.

I just laughed, and laughed, but thanks for showing us you care 69 pages of complaints later, it's nice to know gree is "hard at work" with their next latest screw up, it must be "compiling and linking" errors with all their loop checking points to make sure the glitches can't work, in the end just screwing up their game code.... So many lines to read through must be a hassle just glad I quit the game, cause the lag and errors and glitches and bugs and horrible customer service, all just snow balls before you say enough. Now I come on here to just see if gree has changed.... Nope. We all have a better chance of winning the lottery before that happens (like firing your developers and getting new ones)

Good grief, when is this situation going to be resolved? It takes anywhere from 10-30. Minutes to finally get in to the game, that is if I have any luck on my side. No need to try and do the indivdual quest, because I never know when or how long i can be in the game.

69 pages of unresolved complaints and gree are "hard at work to fix it".
If its a priority to fix, how can you invest so much time writing new code for a completely new function within the game that will totally change how to play!

That's great for you and your faction that everyone has gotten access back to the game, now put yourself in my shoes, I've been locked out for almost three weeks now, and my faction has a number of ppl that still can't log in to the game. Suddenly you will understand why we're still a bit upset that we can't get into a game that we have paid money to play. I've lost three weeks of events and stats because of it. Id be fired in my job if something went unresolved for three weeks.

Like a lot of folks still having problems getting game to open. When I can get in, get either 1- the screen to select flag again, although there is no close button so I have to close the game, or 2- a level up notice even though I'm not close to leveling and it's for several levels above where I would level. Ex: Currently @ 183, last notice was congrats on getting level 216. Closing that screen crashes the game about 50% of the time. Trying to participate in other events is good for 5-10 minutes before crash. Can only see and access nrg or health paks if I use gold first. And the buttons in menu screen are giant. Lacking a Gree solution, the cure for the frustration is to quit. My small gold purchases won't be missed in Gree's bottom line, but observing the volume of pages in this and related threads, some of the bean counters best flex some influence on the programmers or the cumulative effect will be noticed in the financials.

Taking the time to get things fixed properly and tested is the right approach instead of putting out rush fixes due to pressure from customers and managers.
Rushing often leads to misunderstanding of the real underlying issues and results in only partial fixing.
Take the time to truly evaluate the problems, fix them, and fully test.

Thx for the heads up. BUT. this is a joke and each event it gets worse. I get notices my base gets hit and I cant do crap about it. My faction suffers due to the lack of my participation. And that is 100% Gree screw up. you say they fixing it. The lame we are sorry rewards cant even get used. My crate event doesn't work. I waste time and $ playing. My fellow soldiers are growing and moving and I am just feeding their accounts. You suck at running a game and quite frankly passing info or modding for those of us out and watching the devastation occur. With so many of us out, all you do is pass on they are fixing it, but we don't know when it will happen. I for one am done giving my $ and my time to lame devs. Feeding your bank and watching our game time die is not happening any longer. Ill move on and bid you farewell.

Not to downplay the situation for anyone still experiencing issuues, but mine has started working pretty good in the last day or so. Ever since the box event started, I have noticed better performance. I'm on iphone 4 w/ IOS 7 and the latest update to MW of 452.4.0
I'm not a smart person, according to my mother, but I wonder if part of the issue is because so many things have changed since the last time that some of you could log in? Depending how much has changed, is there a conflict with the servers trying to "mesh" the chaos within your accounts to the whatever the latest updates are? Ex: your faction earned tons of prizes while you were locked out. The system wants to give you the prizes but it cant figure out the chaos within your app that has been reloaded countless times?
That probably doesn't even make sense. I will now go back to staring at the wall. I sincerely feel for anyone still facing this issue. Best of luck.

Its not such a stupid idea. Even before this screw up i would get this type of crash, specially during RB on my iphone 4s. There were so many pending popups that as soon as the game opened, i am guessing there was a memory issue and game would crash immediately. However, i would simply need to login again and would be able to play since the server thinks i received all the popups and does not resubmit them to my device. All units are in inventory and progress would show properly.

yes had the same problem and this problem was also a reason for itunes to give me a refund! am I happy? refund feels good :rolleyes:

Wait, let me make sure I understand you correctly... we currently have 3 people in our faction who still cannot even open the game due to something broken in the most recent set up updates, and there is no plan to make any corrections until the next "major update"? Am I understanding this correctly, Tadaaah? Is the hope that 5.0 will hopefully undo whatever 4.4.1 broke and 4.4.2 and 4.5 failed to unbreak, rather than fixing what's broken before making more major changes?

Hello Gree! People from my faction that were having small(?) problems like the game crashing now can't even log into the game after the latest data push. This is with the latest release!

The last update was supposed to fix the first which was a fix to a fix of something, it was deployed in 24 hours. More people are loosing their games and rewards and what is gree doing about that? Have events stopped?

For users of IPhone 4 after so many tries Im able to log in finally.
In case it helps to log in after so many tries next works for me. I had to clear capacity on my phone to more than 1.5Gb deleting apps, photos and vids and the version I got is 4.5.2 after sync on Itunes Im playing again.
Ipod 2 definitively still no working with any version even with 8Gb of free capacity :mad:

Where's the love? My game started having significant issues last Friday and last night while in the hunt for the top prize in the box event, I was out for good. I know for a fact that there is a VIP program and that I was invited to be a member given my significant investment. My question is has the term VIP changed all of the sudden with an entirely different meaning? All I want is a little effort with dialogue to know that something is happening, the lack thereof is concerning to me. If I can't log on, I can't spend money on gold and I can't light my buildings so players in game will not get my cash to buy units, while I am waiting and holding mine..(breath) hoping it gets fixed by the people behind the curtain. Just sayin

the biggest part that upsets me is i can not help my faction nor get to be a part of FL event nor the last raid boss event in which my A/D scores would be much larger by now , if they give us all the units i might like to spend my $$$$ again but the longer this takes the less i want to play

I'm slowly breaking the addiction. I can get in but it takes so long and I have to stare at my screen to make sure it doesn't hibernate. Each day I log in fewer and fewer times. Consequently, each day I experience more in real life I would have otherwise missed. It's getting easier and easier. Perhaps the final kick in the teeth will be the 30 "I'm sorry" energy packs used on ridiculously energy intensive FLTQs. Like a deceptive retailer that raises their price 30% then gives everyone 10% off. Or maybe the final kiss off is the +3% energy regen. Did it cross Gree's mind to help teams that have MIA members by giving a break to the capable players? If so, they clearly ignored it and opted to bend us over again.
Tadaaah and Clementine, I don't doubt you care. However, it's obvious senior leadership does not. I'm sorry but I don't buy the story about being at the "mercy" of Apple. I'm sure Apple doesn't like processing all the chargebacks and is incentivized to expedite the resolution. I've talked to Apple for an unrelated issue - top notch customer service Gree should take a class. I'll be finding out how they handle refunds soon.

If you did close everything down for a week, you could work without interruption or interference.
Players could take a short break, and no one would have any fears that they are being left behind by others.
After the shut down passes, all could return and everyone would be happy.
The way you are doing things now only causes many people to be upset.
Think about it, Gree, for your sake; think this through very carefully.
There are several ways to get through this, even if you were only to shut down 12 hours every day for the one week.

For some, however, the game has already been shutdown.
Many people have been locked out for 10-14 days and growing.
They've lived through it, and are better off for it.
This isn't life or death.
Despite the many issues, their dedicated following forged ahead, steadfast in their resolve to do it for their imaginary mates.
Gree just kept piling on, adding this and that, they were insatiable in their quest to squeeze the many dedicated believers dry!!!
Then finally, bloated, overloaded, patched beyond belief, the old game engine sputtered, coughed,wheezed, and died!

I did another phone complaint about gree via Apple call support in 5 min I am now getting a 3 month refund of money spent. It's worth every second it took. All should avail themselves of this remedy doesn't effect your game at all if you still make decision to play if they ever really get it fixed. Gree is all about lip service and bs action to look like they are doing something. This fubar has really pulled the curtain back on a bad company who's bottom line is sucking cash from people and not really having any sense of appreciation for its customers

All I can is this is ****e, I gave 15mins trying to get so I would get final deploys in 2 battles now and not made it into the game to get my deploys off either not a happy customer and letting my team down more than anything is the biggest pain in the ass!

I am now on an iPad mini running 8.1.1 and the latest update of modern war, which is all that is available for download. I have 7.7 gb available and IT STILL CRASHES

Accounts which were previously unaffected are now crashing out on startup. Of my 8 accounts, 6 have crapped out in the last 24 hours. It took me 4 attempts to get one of my accounts on, deployed a stack of FL units and it died again.
All other apps fine.
I will skip the emotive/subjective pleas to fix, bitter and vacuous criticism of Gree devs and personal character assassinations on the mods. This has yielded precisely zero forward movement since I started this thread about 18 years ago.
Nobody is listening. They might be hearing, but nobody is listening so how about this week being "International Gold Free Week" to see if that either gets a better explanation or a fix to the performance issues.

I think that they did something under pressure they knew was risky, to stop the Airplane Mode on iOS and that is what started the snowball effect.
I started having issues right after that fix and it only gradually got worse.
In my pre-retirement life, I had responsibility for Software development. “A little voice of experience here”.
I am willing to bet they know the cause of the recent chaos but the fix would restore the pilot licenses and they can't have that, so they are trying to come up with a workaround until they can develop a permanent solution which requires a major rewrite of the software. Problems with ios started after they fixed the supposed cheating issues with syncing. It started with gold not being credited for offers and continued to get worse with every event and update pushed out to "fix" the issue. They need to go back to before airplane they fixed airplane mode and reload that version. ,This way all will be fixed until they can work on airplane mode issue with IOS.
I think that they did something under pressure they knew was risky, to stop the Airplane Mode on iOS and that is what started the snowball effect.
I started having issues right after that fix and it only gradually got worse.
In my pre-retirement life, I had responsibility for Software development. “A little voice of experience here”.
I am willing to bet they know the cause of the recent chaos but the fix would restore the pilot licenses and they can't have that, so they are trying to come up with a workaround until they can develop a permanent solution which requires a major rewrite of the software. But their temporary patches are not working.

I see that you both don't understand what happens with MW. The changes in client did not solve airplane glitch. The glitch was solved on server side. So rollback in client will not return glitch.
Moreover, new features and changes (like devisions, performance fixes, etc.) damaged really and significantly the game.

1. Apple does not allow App Developers to re-release or rollback to an "older version" of the game on the App Store, so unfortunately we are unable to do this.
2. This particular fix requires a client update to game (in which you have to download the update from the App Store), which requires a submission to and then approval by the Apple App Store. This means we are at the mercy of Apple's timeline and approval process.
We are aware of and deeply sorry for the number of issues that Modern War has experienced over the last few weeks. I know that the team is working hard on getting everything resolved as quickly as they can.
1: it is common practice when old version is re-compiled with bigger version number.
2: I hope that new update really fixes current problems and is really in apple approval state.

From testing I can state that invisible targets and invisible buildings are a problem at the client (app) level of this game. This drawing issue has plagued low memory Android devices for almost a year. I documented it on this very forum.
The dataset of this game is huge, but that is supposed to prevent huge data transfers between the server and the client (app). Which is why up till now things were actually working fairly well on IOS. But it was mind boggling to check memory allocation and to discover that MW takes up 2GB of space for it's dataset! Yes the app is only 80k but it's that massive datafile that is causing the problems as devices cannot handle it properly. Mainly older slower devices with limited available memory.
I do also see the point about the Airplane issue being the cause of more problems, mainly that the client keeps wanting to sync with the server to prevent this type of fraudulent use. I get that, mainly because the original design was meant to be more autonomous but in doing so it opened the client up to hacking.
It does also seem as if Gree has downgraded their server(s) running this game. Likely because they want to put the better hardware on apps that are making the most profit. Also does not bode well for this app….
When IOS 8 came out and Gree updated the app to 4.5.x is when things went off the rails. Although I was seeing a lot of crashing on our 1st gen iPad before these changes. But with 4.5.x came the locking out of a lot more IOS devices. Basically it looks like any device not running IOS 8.1.x is either locked out completely or experiencing a high failure rate.
Why Gree has not rolled back the app is beyond me unless they successfully also crapped the server side as well when they started to make these changes, in other words what is on the server may have changed in format and therefore might not be able to be rolled back. In which case that could account for such a slow painful process. Or as others have speculated the programmer doing the work on this game is incompetent, granted my money is on upper and middle management.

Still locked out. i was on an ipad2 running 8.1.1. I downloaded modern war to an iPad mini running 8.1.1. . I transferred my main account from my ipad2 to my iPad mini, since the new account was working.
Now my level-300 account is on my iPad mini. It is locked out. I started a new account on my ipad2. It is working fine. I have leveled it up to 28 and continue to add buildings. As I do this, modern war works less and less.
Agent Orange, it certainly seems like the bloated information that is trying to be downloaded is the cause. Both iPads were able to run modern war. Neither iPad is able to run my level-300 account.

I submit that this game's most recent issues are among that number.
We will never know what caused this, because Gree has no idea and they are behind it all.
I suggest that this is like the knotted shoestring you ended up with years ago.
It was knotted by your hand, yet you don't know how it was knotted beyond being untied.
The cure then was to cut the knotted shoestring, throwing the pair away!

You are both talking about available drive space. That is not the same as available memory. I am not familiar with the exact specs of all the devices, but I'm guessing none have more than 4gb total memory, let alone available memory.

However if you have rhat much available memory then the next culprit is likely a bad graphic file. Logically you would nuke the app and dataset and reload the entire mess, but based on my testing and what is being posted here that likely will not work.

Of course it's not a reason for killing the game but it might have rendered the game unplayable for many.
When you say iPad, which generation since anyone with a 1st gen iPad and who upgraded to 4.5.x is now locked out totally. Up to that point on mine it was constant crashing.
Those on 2nd gen iPads seem to be reporting mixed results from being totally locked out to just slow loading at startup. What was interesting is the one person who transferred off an iPad 2 and reinstalled a new player and it worked making me think a graphic or dataset file being used by his old player could have been the issue and why these issues are so inconsistent.
Keep in mind we have players all over the place in terms of what units buildings and awards they have in their inventories and the more I read about this mess the more I have to wonder if it's a graphic or perhaps boost item causing this.

From testing I would say you need to upgrade to IOS 8.1.x, but my gut says don't if everything else is working on your iPhone because I can't guarantee that things will improve.
I'm not very versed in computer issues but I see several posts about data size being a potential cause. Could it be because there are so stinking many NPCs? I mean they use to clear out old NPCs when the next LTQ/FLTQ started didn't they? Now even the very first ones stay on the maps the entire cycle.

I started having new problems over the weekend with my iPad mini 16gb ios 8.1.1 freezing up.
Researching, I found that MW was using 4.5gb of space (with 2.7gb of data).
I deleted mw, restarted my iPad, restarted MW, exited and turned off the iCloud backup for MW, restarted MW, exited and turned the iCloud backup back on and the app and dataset are back to their normal sized.
A leak of some sort???

Holy crap that's the biggest datafile I've heard of. Just checked mine and it's grown to 2.6GB from 2.0. I know gree keeps sending sever pushes because devices that did work have now stopped working.

I have iPad 2. I am lucky and am not locked out. But it is not only slow loading at startup. All old problems with refreshes of deploy points in FL and in WD points, drawing issues and app freezing when I am hitting LTQ targets, invisible targets and more, more, more. Loading at startup was always not sufficient. But now this time is terrible.

Well ok it's Monday. So I assume our stellar buddies from GREE back to work.
I am not sure if mods of this forum just throw their hands up and abandoned this forum but we need at least some feed back.
From what I read and heard that probably 5 to 10% of the community cannot get to their games and may be 40% having other problems with either big lags or stats get screwed etc.
I have iPad Air and iPhone 5. iPad still has 4.4 version and my heavy loaded game works perfect on it. iPhone 5 has 4.5.2 and it's still working but much slower and takes up to 5 min log the game.
I think folks who cannot log in are using older devices.
One way to get your game back is to ask gree to move your game to more powerful device like iPad Air if you have a spare one. They can do it very easily and done it before but unfortunately they do not respond to any tickets at all. Nothing.
Even if whatever global fix will take some time they can help player by player on individual basis

My iPhone 5 had all kind of crap and apps and I really did not remove anything. And as I said it's takes for a while to log in but you still can play game.
I was able to get my game transferred to my new iPhone 6 about a month ago without any problems. I am running iOS 8.1.1 but I'm currently only running mw version 4.4. I have refused to update to the new version for weeks now. It currently runs wonderful on it with load times of under 10 seconds. Just thought I'd weigh in with the current device and software versions. Sorry so many are having trouble.

From 11/19, Tadaaah said nothing would be addressed until the next major update. Impossible as if they compiled a 64-bit only version it would not run on any devices without 64-bit hardware & 64-bit OS.
Apple to protect their brand would have as part of Appstore release ensured it would not even allow you to download a

I will say bogus on the belief of server cost as GREE use Amazon EC2 to run their games. So they are not saving money from that, now GREE
may be using their owe servers to do MW data set deploys as Amazon charges a fee for the amount of data sent from an EC2 server instance to
any connected device outside of the Amazon EC2 clusters. Apply to be a GREE third party developer the informatinformation they provide about
how to interact with the GREE platform is enlightenin.

No as in because it is looking for 64 bit shared or dynamic libraries that do not exist the error would be
pretty self evident as it would not even get to that point the binary will not execute. And Apple, Google &
other AppStore already have the framework in place when you package up an app.

Without question, your continued, and noticeable silence is not of your own choosing (I sure hope not)..you are both simply doing what the people who sign your paychecks tell you to do. With that said, we have all read your posts about enjoying what you do, and truly understanding the purpose as mods.. be the voice between Devs/Programmers and Players. You are smack dab in the middle, more so now than ever. This is the greatest crisis this game has ever seen (yes, I use the word 'crisis' lightly, as again, this is just a 'game'). Old players, new players...all are effected the same...only difference between the two class of players is that 'old players' remember when this game was beautiful..
Over the course of 'beautiful game' to 'today's game', the people who sign your checks have failed, at a catastrophic level. Not sure if it is attributable to the mods who came before you, who failed to effectively relay issues to mods/devs, or, if this all sits squarely on the shoulders of the 'suit-and-ties'. There can be plenty discussion about what has been added at player's request, and what has been done to appease the masses at times. But the truth is, no decision for change in this game was ever made with the player in mind.
No, what we have is a beautiful product that has been molded and shaped with 'profit' at the forefront of all changes and additions that have been made.
I respect both of you ladies, but all we ask for is a simple update.

It will be interesting to see where it lands this weekend and how that compares with WD weekends in the past. I'm not shocked now, but I was shocked when I first read the article about Gree's acquisition of Funzio that disclosed the gross income from the first ever WD event.
The farthest right-hand data point on that graph is the sad, telling one that they need to wake up to. It doesn't have to be that way. Seems like some new ideas came in and are working hard to rescue them from the possibility of continued success. The longer this silence goes on, the lower that point is going to go, I believe, as more and more people lose faith in their ability to recover anything workable for the long term.
I've got a feeling we're going to see someone toss a grenade in here soon just to see if anybody is still looking.

I agree. More than likely they cook the books for the various game makers, or rely off of inaccurate data supplied by Google and iTunes. I'm sure the numbers don't reflect true numbers, or can't account for the refunds or adjustments made or being made daily.

It's now day 7 without any information or response from the company. As a faction leader I have people asking me every day if I know anything about when they'll be able to get back in the game, and all I can tell them is, "Gree hasn't said anything about it for 7 days now".
Gree, would it be best for me to tell them it's time to move to a different game, or can you offer some genuine, believable reassurance that are you actually working on restoring these peoples' access to Modern War?

You have to wonder how many potential customers download the app but cannot get into the game. Gree still claim IOS 5 support but certainly doesn't work with the current version..
I had also problems to logon first generation iPad, did not want to wait for a fix and asked gree to transfer the game. Now I can acces modern war on both devices, on the old device I have now a account. I guess these problems are because of low ram on first generation ipads.

Many people who are on newer devices, even with over 50 gb of free RAM, cannot open the game or have to wait 10 minutes or more for the game to open just to have it crash again when it does. The problem is not limited to first-generation iPads.

It is weird , i get in game nop problem only down side is it takes 1. Min to log in. , 3g. Logs in quicker than wifi for me, only other thing i notice is the maps always have to load up ,

I actually reformatted my Ipad2 and downloaded MW again. Worked like a charm, except when I had to create a new account. I am now rolling with my brand new level 1 account. I assume Gree will take their sweet time in assigning my account to my IPad.

You needed to set your game to transfer out. Can you restore from your iCloud or iTunes backup?
Once you restore setup your game to transfer out. Then you can reformat you iPad2 and transfer your game in. I did that with my IPad Mini. I hope that helps.

Did a reformat of the device, started a new account, and had Gree transfer my old account. It didn't help - same issue as before.

Response to someone asking about upgrading in a different thread.
Exactly my concerns, if you can at least get in I would leave it.
Flushing the app and reinstalling does not help, I am finding this out with my 3 iPod 4th gens. It feels like something in the dataset is the problem because on the two locked out devices they only download about 85mb of data before crashing. The 3rd device that can log in requires multiple retries before getting in. But the interesting thing is that it was able to download 1gb of data and downloads. It is also a much newer account, think about a year old vs three so my guess is a graphic, or perhaps unit or building is what is causing the log in issues.
I would be curious to know how old the accounts are that are crashing out, my oldest account is working but it is on IOS 8.1.1 BUT I never flushed the dataset when I upgraded to 4.5.2. Also how far you got on the dataset download.

My account is over two years old. It has the jinai 24-hour building. (Sorry. I cannot remember what it is called, and I can't check because my game STILL doesn't work).

Agent Orange - my account dates back to late 2011. I have all LTBs except the first three (Arctic, Alexandria, Anniversary). I do like your theory that there is some clump of pixels (unit or building) that the game chokes on when loading, depending on the insidious combo of device type + iOS + MW version.

Numbers are looking a little thin at the back of the leader boards for the current WD event.
Fewer and fewer people are playing the game. Soon the big boys will just be playing with themselves.

My guess is that support is just finally getting the message about 4.5.2 being submitted, which was actually approved almost 3 weeks ago.

My ouija board tells me we are all doomed and that Gree will pay a heavy price for the incompetence and lack of concern shown for its customers the past month.

By the way, I can't tell you just how much I'm enjoying seeing the MW messages every 2 seconds about how I've gone AWOL and someone is trashing my base and raiding my billions of dollars. It helps tremendously getting the MW advice that I should do something about that and "blast them back to the Stone Age"! I'd love to be able to do that if you'd get off your butt and fix the problem!!
Not sure if it will help anyone, I was having the log in issues too. I had 600mb free space and cleared out until I had 1.8gb. Still takes a while, but I can log in now.

4- Load game

The "holdup" to releasing 5, or in other words fixing the lockout issue, is that the lockout is a secondary priority. They could have rushed the fix in faulty programming for the 4.1.2 but chose to continue development of their new content release instead and merely add the "fix" in with the rest of that. Once the new content is ready, 5 will be out, not a minute before no matter how many cannot access the game.
(wonder if the reason they need additional revenue from a 7 day WD is because of all those who have not been adding money the last 3 weeks?)

Yes RB has introduced even more crashing and log in issues on both IOS and Android devices in my group. Dataset is 3.2GB on my original AO account from Nov 2011! I also had to delete my beloved iBird pro app to free up another GB of memory so MW could load without freezing, grrrrrrrrrr.
I don't think it would be wise to nuke this dataset because on the devices that cannot access the game and drash on loading they only get to about 68mb of data before crashing....

I was on an Ipad2 when my game was locked out. I started a new account on an Ipad mini, which worked just fine. I had my account transferred from my Ipad2 to my Ipad mini. Once my account got to the Ipad mini, I was still locked out. My Ipad2, however, could download and run a new modern war account.
I have an Ipad mini2 that I have asked Gree to transfer my account to on December 2 (Ticket #2091288). I am interested in seeing if a more powerful Ipad can download my account an allow me to start playing again. Once it is transferred, I will let the forums know if it worked.

I am playing on a 32gb iPad2, running iOS 7.1. I installed the November 10th update #4.5.2 yesterday, and like many other people I was locked out of the game. I would see the Gree start up screen, but never got to see the "connecting to server" message. It would just dump me back out to the app page where the MW icon was displayed on my iPad.
Contacted customer service, no response from them.
I only had 3.3gb of storage space available on my device, so I deleted a bunch of old unused apps and photos, videos, music that I didn't need. Freed up a bunch of new space. Then tried starting the MW game again and low and behold I got the message, "downloading updates", and then the game started up.
For people having a problem with the 4.5.2 update I would suggest checking out how much free storage space you have on your device. It could be that you don't have enough free space on your device to download and properly install the update, so the game won't start up for you.
Can't say if this will work for everyone, but it worked for me... I'm back in the game again after being locked out by the 4.5.2 update.

:( still can't login..3 weeks now..I remember my stats were 7b att 3.5b deff and told my factionleader to kick me out untill gree had fixed everything..:confused: can I still catch up with the rest? or is everybody already in the 10/15b deff range?

We're now on five weeks of this SNAFU. For the love of God, just give us a target date...
Have an iphone and am on attempt #52 to log-in to MW today. It keeps saying "connecting to server" and then it just goes back to my normal iphone screen. Am getting sooooo tired of this crap. Maybe my 10-yr old son was right when he told me I should play Clash of Clans since that hasn't crashed yet. MW is becoming a joke Is there any idea on how/when this will be fixed?

After all this time the accounts locked out are now useless due to the stat inflation that has been going on. Yet another item up for grabs now in wrapper event with 4% buff. Pointless even bothering.
I'm not tech guru but surely an "update" taking us back to an older version would make sense until something is sorted.
I also note that when deleting game and reloading (have tried many times) that the game description still says a minimum of IOS 5. Seems those on 5.0 have no hope and even newer versions having issues. I guess I'm lucky enough 2 devices here are working (for now) and only son's older device on the blink. His itunes cards for Xmas will be used on a different game now as he wants both Cc and MW deleted as he's past frustrated. I'm not far from joining him.

Seems that some are lucky with the reload. I've got over 11 GB of space left and still can't load it. I'd say that isn't the issue. It's pretty sad that instead of working to get us all back into the game and THEN adding new features, Gree has chosen to keep us locked out while they add tons of new features. OUCH.

I don't for a second think the priority was to get us that are locked out threw no fault of our own back on as a priority like stated by a mod on a closed thread.the priority is on new content to keep the majority happy.i get it but that f'n sucks as I want my game back right now.no way that update will come out before Monday if it don't hit today.why lie GREE?you speak out of both sides of your mouth and it's all nonsense and we know it.your compensation package is a joke too!why are my tickets being closed out as solved when nothing is solved?quite the opposite.by the way,sending me an in-game message does nothing when I can't see it!!!

For those who were involved, or who have read up on the AMA..
Many answers to our questions, or responses to future suggestions, reminded us of the 'road map'.
Where Modern War is, today, right now, was planned out long ago. Please don't mistake this current debacle as being 'in the road map'. No, this current state of the game is simply a result of a poorly planned, but always executed... 'road map'.
Where I think we as forum members and game reps tend to collide most is usually centered around the error in-game vs. the inability to change/adjust on the fly to the error (on the program end).
The business of Modern War is such that the sheer profitability requires extensive planning, as to protect the future business side of the game we play.
This is the bed we have all made, so let's figure out how to lay in it...
This on going, month long disaster is proof that;
1. No matter how great the problem, the absolute resolution to any problem will always be implemented into the 'road map'... gone are the days of non-planned adjustments/quick fixes (so the forum needs to learn more patience)
2. GREE should prioritize listening to it's players over keeping a pretty road map.

My family has noticed that now that I am locked out of modern war I spend more time staring at the phone than when I was actually able to play the damn game. For the first time in two years they are actually hoping I can play modern war. You are the best!
Now fix the freaking game!
I expect an answer first thing Monday afternoon.

C'mon now... I'm sure you know the responses (if any) we get with any ticket. A generic "we are working on your problem" , sometimes unrelated to the problem we are having, and "case closed"
The support system works about as well as the game itself!

Mods are you kidding me? I've sent a ticket the 2nd day I was locked out without any response exept of the canned crap! That's now almost 30 days without support response!
I spent over 3 years a few thousand dollar to build my account, just to see how it becomes more worthless from day to day!
Others with same statslike me are now 5billion and more ahead. How shall I ever catch up again? Oh right, I just need to spend a few thousand dollar more!
Thousands of dollar spent and I don't even get a personal message, that's just pathetic and shows how Gree thinks about their customers!
Please stop telling us to send a ticket, because NOTHING happens at all!

Just a bit of feedback though in case it's a mods role to pass it on, for those out of the game for around a month it is almost pointless getting back in as their stats will be 50-150 million short of where they were. Current syndicates will start removing if not already. Even some loyal members will find it tough as they will not be able to now compete at the level they were previously. Gree really need to put a hold on buffed items until such time as the issue is fixed. This will at least minimise the damage. I know players who can still get in will cry (I have 2 devices that can) but the game itself needs active participants and losing so many puts the game at risk. I'm really surprised that Gree hasn't tried updating back to an older version until they can sort out the issue.

On point. Not to mention for those who manage to login but the game crashes when trying to launch the Raid Boss or even NPCs events. The impact is not only on individual stats, but there is an effect on fractions where you can't get folders or missing the firepower or energy or FL units or points to compete in the events! The expectations from all would be out of this universe for the 5.0 version that is going to roll out soon to resolve most of these issues!

Sadly the problem is that with the current build of the app they cannot seem to fix the log in issues. They might be trying some running fixes within server pushes but unfortunately the problem appears to still be in the data set, I base this comment on m three identical iPod 4th gens. Each are identically configured with the same version of IOS and MW 4.5.2. The one that can log in has a 1 GB doc and dataset and is also a much newer player.
The two locked out iPods were started in Nov 2011 so they are very old but what is really interesting is that they only load about 58mb of the dataset before they crash out. All now have over 4.2GB of free space (they are only 8 gb iPods). On the working iPod it will always crash when trying to kill the raid boss, sometimes the hit registers but most times it does not when the game crashes. This same type of crash occurs on an older Android phone with 512mb of system heap so my guess is that MW is taking up too much system resources.
But on the locked out games, this feels like a corrupted graphic. Though could a dev have made a silly mistake and put in some system parameter such as looking for x free space available on the device as the dataset loads and if that parameter is not met the app fails?
But in order to fix this mess I really hope dev takes the mantra, less is more to heart or this may never be resolved or could in fact get worse....

If Gree could give us a non-generic incident status (eg it was cause by update X, we have identified code that is at fault, we are currently testing a fix etc) it might appease some of the ill will.
Standard protocol for incident management, might stop everyone from ditching the game.
This game is beginning to force me to find something else. Every time I attack anything win or loss the game crashes and has to be restarted. This morning 5 times in row I attack its crashed and forced me to reboot the game! Can someone recommend a game to replace this with a more stable.

I might suggest a Facebook game called Fairyland, you go about building gardens that attract animals that you need to collect to complete goals. It is free, and has some pretty good strategy and game play. Been playing it longer than MW and it comes in handy when you can set up a few gardens across many players.
The other interesting part is that the game is 98% played by women, if you think guys can be vicious you haven't seen a woman scorned who just got sniped for a cute little bunny rabbit! Pure evil genius I says….

Yeah ticket that will solve it not to be redundant, but yeah same gree canned responses and then closed. Followed by the how are we doing survey. If you think tickets will help you're drinking the kook aid. hey brigs a lot of us MW refugees are playing This Means War. The game works has alliances/factions and it doesn't chain you to game with non stop events. So far it's pretty fun

What's worse, not being able to log in, or being able to log in, and it taking 10 minutes only to play with a severely lagged game, and loading times that eat the **** out of your phones battery..... I always wonder who gets the better deals, the ones who can't log in who are free from gree... Or the ones who can and get to play but with a. Broken toy.

Android is back, but AFTER the mission deadline ended, so all the work went down the drain because I couldn't get in to complete.
EXTEND THE DEADLINE A COUPLE HOURS TO MAKE UP FOR YOUR FAIL !!!!

I was on an ipad2 and was locked out. I made an account with my iPad mini. I transferred my account to that iPad mini. It didn't work. I was able to load a new account onto my Ipad2.
I have loaded a new game on my new, out-of-the-box iPad mini2. I started a new game and got my old game to transfer to it. I now have a working account. Not thing else is loaded on the iPad. iOS 8.1. Mw 4.5.2
