View Full Version : How Exactly is Health Regen Calculated?

I'm usually pretty good on the maths, but this is foxing me.....

Let's assume that you have -30% Health Regen Time from your faction bonus.

Then, you get a -5% Health Regen Unit. What does that take you to?

-30% * -5% = -31.50%.......is that right?

Then if you get another -5% Health Regen Unit, is it;

-30% * -5% * -5% = -33.075%......is that right?

And what is it -33.075% off? Is it one hour? Therefore 60 minutes - 33.075% = 41.1 minutes??

Anyone know exactly how this works?

Rob

100 minutes is normal full regen time , the way you calculated it seems right .
Reductions are done off your current time , not the original, so the lower your time , the less a new one takes off

You cannot have more then 100% healtregen, therefor the math is this,

You have 44% so theres 56% remaining for full regen
56 x 0.95 = 53

New healthregen 100-53=47

Based on -5% health regen increase.
So if you end up with 47% its 53mins to full regen

no, it's calculated like this: 1-(.95*.95*.95*.95*.95*.95*.95*.95) = ~0.3366 or -34% rounded health regen - that's what you see in your bonuses list and it's how it's displayed [7 faction -5% plus one -5% unit]

rough health regen time then is around 66 minutes for full [100 minutes full without any bonuses at all]

Yup Exactly like this rob.

Each unit you get you turn into a decimal (subtracted from 1)

so 5% =.95, 10% =.9 20% =.8 and then you multiply all of them together then take 1 and subtract by that number. If you have any specific questions you know you can always PM me too :D

Thanks Thief. That makes sense.

I was just a bit bored waiting for the FLTQ to start so thought I'd try and understand how my health regen bonus is calculated.....

See you on the battlefield later......

oooooohhhh ok. I've been reading these explanations but nobody seemed to define where the .95 came from. Do the upgrade time and cost reductions work the same way?

All the reduction bonuses work the same way.
The 0.95 comes from the 5% reduction. 100% less 5% is 95%, or 0.95 as a decimal.
