Speed Hacking In Guild Raid

Hello Gree,

Today during the guild war it was brought to many peoples attention there is a particular player's score moving at speeds that should not be possible. We have video proof, pay close attention to #3 on the leaderboard, game name "DK AARON EMP," as his score increases from 49,436,445 - 50,356,448. That is almost 1 million pts, an absurd amount in the 8:15 second span the video covers, that can ONLY be achieved by speed hacking, and not just a little bit, but going much, much faster than normal. #1 on the leaderboard at the moment had an approximately 20 million lead on him earlier, which DK AARON EMP closed the gap within 2 hours! Please do not let this continue as the current leader has not only legitimately purchased all of his gems, he has put in the hours needed to achieve first place.

Also the player in question continuously is changing his in game name so that you cannot tell if it's him on the leaderboard.

Agree 100% with this post and all the responses to date. It's even more of a crime when the most powerful players in the game - who already have the #1 guild rank in the bag - feel the need to resort to hacking and cheating just so they can rub people's faces in how "awesome" they are.

I read a post by DK's GM recently in which she spoke of honour, integrity and righteousness. How does speed hacking fit into that equation?

FYI - the player who is hacking started the raid as DK EMP God of War or something similar, and has been at various times DK HONOR and several other random names like "DK no1 you t10" and "Eat my dust" (presumably joke names).

GREE - please do something about this. It's one thing to acknowledge your biggest customer base. It's another to let them ruin the gaming experience for other legitimate customers.

I know that they did this knowingly because I was part of DK leadership when they brought him in. One of the multiple reasons I left. I can't support a cheater. I remember when OTB was on DK's heels one raid way back and DK Zenith popped into my guild chat to tell everyone that OTB was cheating and we should spam Gree to have something done about it... and then later on I find out they're the ones housing cheaters and hackers... I even had a DK member attempt to scam my account.

Why are DK members continously being given a free pass? Gree you need to end the cheating its absolutely frustrating.

Last I checked I'm somewhere around 500th place and I'm currently in FSK, not Darking. I do however know the player in first. Hes had many names this raid, some paying tribute to other players, some poking at DK. I think it's funny either way ;)

I'm played for 36 hours straight sorry if you couldn't keep up for the hell fire + armor I payed for. As to this war I'm not hacking in anyway. Gree has looked into my account before and has cleared me each time. If I hacked my account would have been banned when I was in otb and we went first. Danger sucks Berzerk sucks lol but back to this raid. Learn your facts. DK Aaron has retired and that was a tribute to me. I'm not even running in this war. So once again when I played I payed the 130 a week it took to be the best unlike the real cheats in danger and 3d.

First I never accused you of not paying for your gems which seems to be your biggest defense here. Also never brought up the Hellfire war as that was another poster. If you are Aaron then you have on business commenting denying facts right in front of your face. The video clearly shows an unachievable pace of scoring. It is clearly by a member of the Death Knights guild, and must have been carried out with at least the tacit consent of that guild's leadership. I'm not sure what more evidence is required here - perhaps a video of the person actually in the act of manipulating the game's code? - but as a reasonable person, I am sure you'd agree that kind of evidence would be impossible to procure.

Firstly, let me be clear - I don't know you from a block of wood, so nothing I say is personal. I am told that there is SS evidence refuting almost every one of your allegations against my friends and fellow members of 3D - which we will produce if you force our hand - but in any case you're not providing evidence of your own for your allegations. Most of what you say is just mere abuse in the face of a video clearly showing some misconduct by a current member of DKs. I'd invite you post any evidence supporting the accusations you have made, but I expect you don't have any.

Secondly, I've had the pleasure of running with 3D for the last two months and have never been asked to hack nor have ever seen any hacking. In fact, hackers are identified and kicked out.

Thirdly, if indeed this post had nothing to do with you and you are not the person exploiting the game this raid, why all the vitriol? All you needed to say was "I'm not DK Aaron, that was a tribute, I'm retired". But no, you seem to be on a mission to try to deflect consideration of the evidence of this cheating by making your wild accusations and abusive comments about 3D, and slandering my friends. Methinks you protest too much.

Finally, if you are so minded, perhaps you can clear some things up for me:

* So are you saying you're not a hacker, or are you are admitting to hacking, but claiming you were forced into doing it by (sic) members of my guild? You seem to contradict yourself quite a bit.
* Last time I checked, none of the people you mentioned had the legal ability to compel you to do anything. Hypothetically, if you had really been asked to cheat (and I submit that you weren't), if you're so pro-fair play, why didn't you refuse to?

To answer your question I have watched the video and then went into the game and timed it myself and watched as he was able to score over 600k + in less than 1 minute time . I am a person who collects all the evidence before passing judgment about a crime . I also went and spent around 100 gems and checked my score on my son's account and can verify that there is no way to score those points unless a person is cheating. I am Gm of my guild and as a Gm I know what all my members are doing and would kick anyone who was caught cheating in the guild . I am sure as a Gm anyone should know what is happening with their members so zenith as the Gm should also be held accountable for her members as she let them into her guild and apparently from the post of her members has condone the cheating as acceptable for death knights guild . Gree needso to take the appropriate action immediately and ban their guild from receiving the war rewards as punishment and ban the ones that are cheating permanently as it is not fair ton the ones who play fair .

I also have been a member of the 3D alliance for a few months now and I will assure you that I am not coming down on death knights out of revenge or any other personal vendetta as I have spoke with zenith in alf a few times but have never really got to know death knight members and as far as 3D I discuss only game related issues that relate to the alliance . I will also guarantee you that if you can provide me with evidence of the accusations you have made that I will make it my personal goal to have those members ( which are in the 3D alliance ) banned as well since I don't condone cheating of any sorts by anyone . Now as far as someone making you do something I would also need evidence of them forcing you to cheat as from personal experience I can say there is none since ( as a law official would say ) no person especially over the Internet could ever make you do something that you don't want to do when it comes to cheating . You alone are responsible for your actions and your actions by what you post is basically saying you are trying to blame others for your and death knights members actions as you have not refuted the evidence by providing evidence of your own proving that they were cheating .

What you posted only proves you committed an offense Aaron as it does not have the people you say forced you to cheat names anywhere and as a matter of fact there is no ss or video proving anything as I could also type in information like that and say you forced me to it . nearly all military people i know, do not support any of that. they are generally awful people. im not saying everyone is, but once you go into a military branch, they treat you like crap, they pick on the weak, and in return make people who also do the same.

the first day at basic they get in your face spitting at you just to assert their authority. the military isn't a boy scout honor system, its a scare tactic - do as i say or ill kill you tactic. its obvious they are trying to break the easily breakable, you probably dont need those type of people in any survival situation, but they shock of first day is insane.

We looked into this possibility but it is still mathematically impossible. He is making 70k jumps in 10-15 second intervals, even with the strongest armor and spamming the 300% the fastest that could be done is around 45 seconds at absolute best case, and that is still slightly faster than possible even under these conditions (All + armors of the newest epic, perfect internet, etc.). He's doubling that in this video and even faster at other times. As Deadman stated we saw him jump much faster as well (20 mil in two hours), but this is all we could get video on.

huh... thats nuts. yeah no way u can finish a lvl 1 in 15 seconds. he must have found a way to speed up the game mechanics, as well as have an auto special presser. probably some program running it. that sounds pretty plausible.

Agreed, I have left all alliance/guild affiliation out of my posts for that very reason. This is about one player, if there are others using it then yes get them out as well. But if you watch the video, #2 on the leaderboard is also DK. That player has been moving at a perfectly normal pace all war and seems to be dedicating her TIME to the game to try for 1st.

Also weird, since the second this video was released the player in questions score has not moved. You'd think if they WEREN'T using a speed hack they would continue as they were since nothing is wrong with it...

thanks man - my best friend was military, came back from it, came to hang out with me, was super kool. left, and ended up hooking up with my gf. on top of all the videos i randomly see of guys drop kicking animals in the desert because you have nothing else to do. i refuse to think any military personnel learn anything other than disrespect for life and rude behaviors. why? because they continue to be picked on until they are strong enough to pick on someone else. thats military logic.

i believe one guy, from OTB cheated a few wars back, had a ridiculous score, and in the end he was banned, but the score stayed with OTB. so i guess one man's cheating led their victory?

That's not what's happening. This is someone with 20k gems vs someone with 20k gems, where the only thing that matters is the time commitment. The scores are already through the roof, do you really think that the gem count matters? Of course not, they both have unlimited.

So you're saying that someone who put in 60+ hours of playing and planned this #1 run should be outscored by someone who put in 10 hours because they are cheating. Get out of here.

Eh. If you want to spend that much, be prepared to use that much. I don't like the time it takes to kill the boss either and I know it must be a big grind to use that many. GREE should just implement another thing to speed up your kills that is like 8x or 16x or something of the likes. I don't think you should resort to cheating though.

ok, so i played a game called chaos fighters. when you fight a level, and beat it, you can then Auto fight the level, and you pick, 1,5,20, or until your energy runs out. it doesn't even open the level, it just shows your XP and money you made on the level, and rare drops if there was any.

basically the game knows you can beat it. and if that was EVER implemented, its not hard to run all the code. thats code you learn the 2nd week of java... well.. whenever you learn random number generators i guess.

Wow, I bury my head in a raid for 2.5 days and look at all the good fun I missed!

I know speed hacking is a real thing on android but, I've also been paying pretty close attention to scores on ios this time. I've seen several times where my score reported to me after a fight and the score that appeared on the leaderboard were several hundred k apart until the ranking screen updated. Is it possible this issue could be due to slow updating of the leaderboard and not a speed hack?

Either way it should be examined by gree.

The only way to do it right, is to see the client as potentially hostile and doublecheck everything it sends, but that would take most likely more bandwidth and more processing time on the server, since either the client would need to talk to the server every swing of the fight or the client would need to send the sequence of actions at the end of the fight to the server, where the server replays the whole fight, checking for timing, damage, gems etc. and then OKs or rolls back the fight.

The above might also help to sync all types of devices to the same fight speed. (different speeds can be annoying if I'm hitting the same raid boss on my phone, tablet and Bluestacks and the special attack timing keeps drifting between the 3... ;-P )

@Rhaegal- Unfortunately no as well, this same pattern continued for 2 hours where he scored 20 million in that time frame. That is roughly the same rate we see in the video which is a little over double what is possible (at absolute best case scenario) without using anything to enhance speed.

I have submitted tickets on my own players several times before, but that's okay, you guys don't have to think before you write. This is the internet after all!

2. If you feel that you have come across a player that is abusing the game, bug, cheat, exploit, etc., please report them using the ticket feature. This will open up an investigation in which the account in question will be looked into. The results of these inquiries are not shared with the reporter or publicly. We do take these matter extremely seriously as we don't want these types of players in this game anymore than you do. Again, the forums are not a place for naming and shaming.

3. If you inadvertently come across one of these hacks, exploits, etc., please report this matter via the ticket system. We will then have this recorded in our systems, so we may reproduce and fix the matter.
